Any idea what the projected hiring will be for this year? Some one posted a while back,CHQ will need about 150/FO for the Delta jets!! How about now with the UA jets. Thanks

general math is about 4 crews for each aircraft. So, 8 pilots per aircraft.

8 * 32 = 256 united
8 * 13 = 104 delta

that means 360 pilots in the next little while

Bedford said we'd be starting united flights for united in June. No clue how many or which.

They'll likely bring on a few extras. But, that's not FO's just for those planes. You will have current FO's upgrading and then we'll have to replace those FO's in the rest of the system.

The future is unfolding as predicted. Congarts CHQ!

Ironically, the recall buzz is the hot topic on the major board.
I doubt that will happen at UAL soon. Their business plan from the beginning was to shift the focus of the flying to the regionals.
You just hate to see them get their hopes up about recalls.

pay them to do our scheduling (if that's what you want to call it - (NO Quality

You must have our schedulers working for you too. We get the same "quality" scheduling you folks do.

BTW:

FlyforFood-Not:

The 170 pay rate IS $53.55 for First year CA. However, there are NO First year CAs at the airline at all, and there will not be any first year CA's on the 170.

The actual pay rate for a 170 CA will be between $62 and $94 (the top is $108) depending on senority. I'm not defending the payscale, just shedding the light on your selective choice of a pay number.

research your facts first before posting..

On flightinfo? Yeahright. It is noble of you, however, to ask that. Silly, but noble. Careful. next you'll actually expect folks to present these accurately researched facts completely AND in context. What fun that would be.

Well I can't see MAA shifting any work or planes to Republic, unless a JFJ clause allows only MAA pilots.

RegionalFA's number are a bit off.

32 Jets For United
13 New Jets for DAL
+
5 jets for DAL we have not received.

50 Jets Total

With the company estimate of 5.4 crews per plane.

Roughly 540 pilots to be hired.

okay, I'm honestly just asking.

What does that have to do with what you quoted. I'm legitimately confused.

My thoughts were that UAIR has asked GECAS to look for some new leasee's from the original contract of 25 CRJ700's and 35 E-170's. Based on that information, Republic could have been in line to inherit some of the 170's to fly under the UAIR Express banner. Since all the MAA CA's will start as 1st year and Republic will have seniority rules, then I doubt UAIR will go that route, unless it's absolutely necessary.

Also, it was mentioned on another thread that it's possible Republic could be getting 75 E170's. If that's a reality, then the 59 other E170's have to go somewhere. That would be good news for many people looking for jobs.

I'm still not following you. Someone mentioned the payscale in the CHQ contract for flying 170's and the thread is about the announced United contract and you went off on something about MidAtlantic. I have no idea how that train of thought flows. But, it's not the first time.

I'm not quite following here either. Clearly he's taking 75 and subtracting the 16 United jets from that and coming up with 59. I'm not sure where the 75 came from though... probably some post with someone being a smartass.. and he just ran off on his own train of thought..... beats me.

Greed!!!!!!!!!!

In your companies greed to get more flying, you are missing one big point both shuttle America and CHQ will be part of the two worst airlines in the states, United and US airways. There is a reason why ACA is leaving the United express program, it has developed into a race to the bottom over there where the lowest bidder gets the most flying!!!(MESA, Skywest) United has proven time and time in the past that it is not interested in any regional just who can fly the cheapest that is a plain fact!! So what does that say about your airline!! Talk to the guys at Air Wisky and see what they have to say about United and there new contract with them. I guess its ok because you guys will upgrade and get to fly for a major right? MESA's influence continues, the cancer continues to grow!!

lazy8 ... so let me get this light shedding of yours right.

You'll never make more than 100k as a CPT (flying same size airplanes as you would for a mojor for 200k), never will you get to the majors, and you'll pretty much be a commuter pilot for the rest of your life driving your little 170. Wow, this is great, where do I sign up?
