We flew into EWR at about 11:30 a.m. and the weather sucked. It was a wild ride the last couple hundred feet.TC

They flew along way to go off a runway.. Gotta feel bad for them. So do you think customs & immigration fined them for not coming the the customs ramp(just kidding)

UA: OVR EWR TB MDT twy Z at S

I was fixin' to submit a PIREP while waiting for a 747 to pushback, start up and get clear of twy S so we could taxi to Signature at around 1315 Lcl. The 2 of us were struggling to hold the pedals and yoke from slamming about in that dang wind! I thought that was the worst part of the ride.

1500 Lcl departure, the winds were gusting to 47 kts and everyone was using rwy 29 for takeoff. I was surprised, we only had to wait about 7 minutes for t/o clearance. My first time in EWR, I think I prefer it over TEB. I'm sure it was a zoo once TEB was shut down though.

Fly safe!

Gulfstream IV Substantially Damaged but No Injuries
A UK-registered Gulfstream IV (G-GMAC) suffered serious damage yesterday afternoon when it ran off the right side of Runway 24 after landing at Teterboro Airport, N.J. The twinjet, registered to charter operator GAMA Aviation of Farnborough, England, was on a flight from London with seven aboard (including the flight crew). High wind gusts were buffeting the tristate area all afternoon yesterday, but the cause of the incident is still under investigation. The FAA preliminary report of the accident stated the wind was 280 degrees at 14 knots, gusting to 27 knots at the time of the accident, about 4:30 p.m. Damage details were not immediately available, but an NTSB investigation has been launched. At press time, recovery efforts were under way to relocate the wreckage to a hangar.

Its true. A Gulfstream went off the runway and 24/6 at KTEB was and might still be closed.

Again.........this wasn't a crash... it was a runway over run! Not a CRASH.

Looked pretty nasty. MASSIVE skid marks at toward the end of the runway. It was still sitting there, on it's belly when we taxied out this afternoon. Burried pretty well in the cat tails.

Someone post some glossy's when it gets in a hangar. I couldn't get my camera out fast enough.
