For what its worth...
I heard that some guys from the Feb 2002 class at JetBlue are now doing Captain IOE. For those of you considering giving up a seniority number while on furlough to give JB a shot...well..take it for what its worth. How much is the that United A fund really worth right now? I say that not mocking....but what happens to all those retirement benefits when a company goes Chapt 11, or worse yet...Chapter 7? UAL 78...any insights?
You know, when I had to choose between JB and FDX, it was a very tough decision (Zulu had similar dilemma). Seems the least JetBlue could have done to make me feel better about my choice was fold, or suddenly start treating their employees like dirt, or slash the pay, or...well...you get the idea. However, they had other plans...
Instead...they grow, make money, make more fans in both the general public and the media. I have seen some say "when this economy bounces back, the public will return to the majors..." My question is why? When you can get a great seat at a great price, friendly, helpful service, and then watch 24 channels for a few hours, what is the rush back to the less comforatable, more expensive seats without the entertainment?
JeffG, Speedbird, Eagleflip, Shaggy, Cool, MigKiller (Malibu)...you guys have to be having a blast. Hope all you guys are getting what you want from your career--the public sure seems to be eating it up. Keep the news flowing and keeping helping out these other bros who want to join the team...lots of pain out there at the moment.
And when its time to send your Christmas packages..well...you know who to choose...
