When I was unloading in IND a few weeks ago, an aircraft pulled up next to me, and on the tail it said Cessna, Twin Caravan. It was a fairly large (about the size of a Cheyenne III), twin turboprop. I had never seen nor heard of these before. Anyone know the story? Only a few produced, or were they thrown together from a bunch of different production parts?

It was cool looking, at least!

They made a twin caravan, because you can't have too much of a good thing!

Reeeallllllyyyyy?

No, not really.

There's also the Soloy Dual-Pac Caravan. Two PT6s driving a single propeller through a common gearbox.

I suppose that would be a "Twin Caravan" too?

That's the one I thought of first too. I guess they just don't call it a "Twin Caravan".

the "twin caravan" is atcually the Reims/Cessna F406 "Caravan II". Its basically a 404 with wicked -115 pratts on it and a bigger door. It's not too popular here in the good ole USA, but a major player in Europe.
It's a GREAT airplane, but a bit expensive to purchase (its almost 4 mil!)
