A friend of mine was just diagnosed with testicular cancer. Any knowledge about recertification after treatment would be helpful. Serious responses please.
I have a buddy of mine who is a current SWA capt. He was diagnosed with it a few years back, and wound up losing a ball. Bottom line he was out for about a year and is cancer free today.
They are as close to the horses mouth as you can get. They are a group of aeromedical specialists who's business is helping with FAA medical certification problems. They are ALPA's aeromedical consultants and run VFS to help non airline types as well.
For a very nominal fee they'll give you a staight answer to the question. If help getting a medical back is needed, they're also the go-to guys to make it happen.
for the recertification it took someone at my old job about 3 months from sending the paperwork to OKC until getting his medical in the mail. this was for testicular cancer also.
