I've ben with AT&T for a year and a half and have never had descent service in my house... which I moved into after the 30 day trail. I've tried numerous times and jumped through multiple hoops in order to get out of the contract. They wouldn't let me out so I was planning on staying with them until the end of the 2 year contract ...but... they make it virtually impossible to track my anytime minutes. I went over my minutes and now they are bending me over so I really want out. Does anyone know what companies make it easy to track how many of your anytime minutes (the ones that count) you have left...easily from your phone? I'm looking for a company that has some modicum of integrity. Does Verizon, Cingular, T-Mobil or Sprint make it easy to track how many of the anytime minutes you have used? I know AT&T will only do it through the internet and even then you have to wait a month... and then they only tell you how many total minutes you have used. It's a crooked way to make a buck.

I have Sprint. They update through their website instanteously (unless you try to access it in the wee hours of the morning, which sometimes the site is down for maintenance).

You can access that information through the phone, but I'm not exactly sure how. Plus, I think that it costs minutes to check and see how many minutes you have!!!

Good luck.

With Verizon, I dial a four digit number (either * or #, then 646, I forget) and withing a few seconds I know where I stand. With any carrier, there is a delay in your company getting an "exact" count until other territories to whcih you may have roamed have reported your usage, but that is usually a matter of hours.

I have never had such great service as I have with Verizion, and I was an AT&T customer for almost four years.

For $39.99 a month I am getting better service than I was spending $119 a month with AT&T.

No comparison. Might be worth buying out your contract. Find out how much they want, and then compare the difference between the two for the time remaining.

That is good news that you can actually find out where you stand by making a quick call. Do they actually tell you how many of your minutes are remaining? Also... does Verizon charge you for that service?

i've got sprint and they send me an update every day around 4pm. just a text message. costs nothing to check.

plus i've got the alert set to 'crazy chicken.' makes for some interesting conversation.

'what's that sound?'
'oh that's just my cock...you were saying?'

had one of those semi-older slutty type hair girls giggling when she was cutting my hair. horrible haircut, but a decent view.

Cingular has the same thing, you can dial #646* and it'll send you back a text message with the minute info. There is no charge... I do it all the time.

You can also go on their website and get the same information.

I had an issue where the data seemed to not get updated, but a call to customer service cleared it up. I'd guess that it gets updated once or twice a week... it's not real time, but it gives you enough information to see where you stand.

For Sprint Users...

For sprint users is *2 to check minutes i believe. Also I dont know why everyone bathmouths Sprint on here (from a prev post). I have service everywhere with them and no issues with billing yet.

I've had a few billing issues with them. They're somewhat hard to get a hold of and don't really seem to take the time to understand your problems. Plus, I've run into a few places where they do not have coverage.

If I had it to do over again, I'd go with Verizon. But for now, it's not worth the hassle to change.

i'll agree to that. i like sprint, but it seems like it's almost impossible to get a human on the phone. i always get stuck talking to "claire." claire sucks.

i've had a couple billing issues, but i've had the service for 2.5 yrs now. all in all not bad.

the only places i've been without service are rural parts of ky (backwoods), parts of maine (backwoods), and canada (backwoods). just stay out of the sticks and you'll be fine

I never have issues with their customer service dept, and if anything, theyve always been nice. They waved a 5 dollar fee when I paid for my gf to get her phone reactivated.

integrity? if I only could change my personal status from individual to corporation...

at Cingular you can dial *646# (*MIN#) with an SMS capable phone and you will get your minutes sent to you within an hour or so.

I just paid the $175 early cancellation fee for ATT... when you have got to go, you have got to go.

Check this out.

I had AT&T. I found a provision in the contract that said if you change the service and do not like it, you can cancel the contract.

I simply changed my plan slightly, told them I wasn't satisfied, then cancelled without penalty. I don't know if they have fixed this loophole, but the Cust Serv people I delt with said they didn't understand why people would pay the cancellation fee when they could just do this.

BTW, the verbage was in the first or second paragraph of the contract.

**CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED**!!! Nice find! Didn't catch this one and the check is cashed already. At least I hope they paid 200k for the lawyer who drafted the contract.

So when did you sign up with the AT&T contract you were able to get out of?
