Just spoke with the jumpseat personnel at FedEx. 1 Apr is the start date and the following airlines are already up to spped with the required digital photo.
the digital photo is placed into the CASS database by your airline. when you check in for the jumpseat, the photo can be pulled up on the agent's computer to verify and match against your company ID. it seems like a decent system but not every airline has the digital photos to make available to the database. there is the "rub" as this photo is not a requirement of the TSA/FAA.
Help me out here. I'm on days off and have no interest in speaking with anyone in FDX management. Are we or are we not in the CASS program now? There has been no announcement on our secure website and nothing from ALPA.Anyone?
Executive operates as American Eagle in San Juan and Miami. They are a separate operating certificate dating back several years. The company has just kept them separate. It must be easier for them this way. The pilots can transfer between all the other bases that Eagle has though (ORD, DFW, BOS, LGA, and LAX).
