I second the low sodium V8 juice. When I'm eating poopy and drink one I can feel the vitamins going into my blood. Vitamin supplements are ok, but the closer you can get to the real thing the better.

A dozen hard-boiled eggs with some mustard or mayo is cheap and transportable, but not sure how healthy... Anybody know??

I generally avoid nuts due to them collecting in crypts of tonsils creating tonsiliths and breath that would scare maggot of a carcass. Anyone agree??

Everyone, thanks for all the tips. I tried the "food on the road" thing this past weekend and I was pleasantly surprised to see how my energy level was up.

I appreciate the advice. Hope it helped other people too.
