Believe me, I understand! I understand exactly where you're coming from. Yup, I jump from moderate to extreme in this situation, and boiling hot emotion takes over.

I'm the arbiter of butt swats, though; not some dewshbag principal, not some insane coach with a tiny peepee, not some teacher. If a teacher feels compelled to spank her, then I am the one who failed. Period.

She's needed one so far, and I doubt it's the last. If she makes a goof that endangers her safety and a talking-to didn't prevent it from happening again, a swat is needed. It ain't the hurt, it's the shock. And I had to walk out of the room and bawl like a baby for a few minutes while she calmed down. But it was necessary, it worked, and god help me- she's the smartest human I've ever known.

In other words, I'm in deeeeep shyt. AND she has her mother's legs. Sweet Jesus. I need a drink. Prom is just a few years away... ;)

I understand and appreciate the input- you are all correct. Sorry for the thread creep.

I think the capt should lead by example. If the kid is f-ing up, tell him or her how it works. Don't forget to tell them that you are only telling them because somebody told you, and how it help you to become more of a professional. Remeber young boys and girls this industry is small and character and integrity is everything!
