I have a friend that had his private lic in Canada but did not keep it valid. He moved to the U.S. and bought a plane, just for fun. Can he get credit from his previous Canadian lic. I have read about the "Agreement" but could not find out about what to do if the Canadian lic has not been kept valid. Can he get a US lic by taking a checkride and knowledge test? Would he get any credit from his expired Canadian lic?

thanks

tried to put this on training and instructions but could not get a answer.
