definitely a train, big wipers.
scoop on top, not for airplane.

It looks pretty bad-a$$ whatever it is.

Reminds me of disneyworld.

It looks like an Aerospatile SE-210 Caravelle. Well at least the nose-end of it does.

It is a train, and definately not the French one. I think this is something that a US railroad company / manufacturer was experimenting with in the early 50's

DUDE.... I SAW THAT SAME THING!!!!!!

The week before last I was driving from Philly to Denver and that same truck and cargo passed eastbound on I-70... I almost broke my neck from swinging it around so fast to look.

How funny..

That looks alot like the Light Rail going in Minneapolis.. although the ones I've seen testing the tracks don't have quite as much of its nose out front..

Could be for a different city..

Mystery photo

No, it's not a Sud-Est Caravelle . My vote would go to a bullet train or something.

Can anyone name the U.S. carrier which put the Caravelle into service?

Airborne Express.

I work with a guy that used to work on them, said they were pretty werid, had some odd systems, such as using electric starters on the engines, and having 4 wheels on each main gear.

There is one in ABX paint at the New England Air Muesum, if anyone is interested.

There are a few of them sitting at CMH....by the threshold of 28L. I think they are in Abex paint schemes as well.
