The original poster is correct. Once the passengers have had a chance to purchase food, the crew will have the ability to purchase the leftovers.

If they want to purchase some of the on board food for purchase. They still get a crew meal and 1st class leftovers are still available(after the FA's divide it all up among themselves). About 50% of the time we get something from 1st class on the 757 domestically.

Just remember to keep your receipt for 90 days! I recommend making 5 copies at a minimum. If possible stash three in the vault where you keep the gold bars that you bought cause of Glenn Beck's warning!
