i was doing a late-night x-c into opa locka tonight. heard miami center talking to "RED ROCK" and "JAMAICA." just wondering who these guys were. any ideas?

Very cool. I always wondered if there was a website with that info. My favorite one is for Business Express... listed as BISEX.:D

My favorite is REACH, especially over the North Atlantic, that is AMC(Air Mobility Command) out of Scott. When you hear that one all the time it means we are getting ready to "kick some butt."

I believe "Reach" is the generic Air Force or AMC callsign. We use that callsign when doing AMC charters out of Norfolk. I know ATA does those flights too.

All AMC sub-contractors use REACH. You work for North American????, you guys have some great looking airplanes, how do you like the new AMC headrest covers, I think they are cool.

Anyone know the callsign "jetspeed". I hear them going in and out of IWA when I come in and out of PHX.

Hey Turbo,
I'm impressed! You actually heard of North American? I used to think that the paint scheme was kind of boring, but it really grew on me.

anyone know who is "star trek"... I hear it often. not sure if I am hearing it right, though... but that is what it sounds like

Star Check. They used to be called US Check, but they are called something else now. They fly cancelled checks around.

It's probably "Star Check," which is AirNet Express, a large and well-known check hauler flying Barons, Aerostars, Chieftans, Caravans, and Lears.

Jetspeed

Jetspeed is EJM - the gulfstreams and falcons and whatever else the management side of Netjets has.

I deadheaded on your 757 from Rome to JFK last week. I became very familiar with a row of blue leather seats at row 18, a nice 5 hour nap.

Speaking of callsigns...

I heard an "Americheck" on the radio a few days ago going into Conroe, TX (CXO). I figger they're hauling checks.... duhhh. Anyone have any details on these guys?

I always hear a "Desert 600" callsign in the Victorville and San Bernardino area. It's a Navajo but I don't no anything else, anyone have info??

I understood "JETSPEED" to be International Jet out of Denver (LR35) and EJA uses "EXEC JET" ?

tankerpuke

Just to clairfy myself, I may have been a little vague. Jetspeed isn't the Netjets airplanes. It's their other company, Executive Jet Management, that manages other peoples airplanes and make them available for charter. They may be based anywhere. They're crewed by EJM pilots, or even the owners own pilots.

Anyone wanna help me out here. I think I'm on the right track.

ACWild, North American Rules. They brought me home from deployment last year. Thanks. BMD

I am in Kuwait and we hear the "Reach" call sign often. I believe it is all AMC aircraft and or the contract carriers. But "kicking butt" is right on. By the way. "Abex" is Airborne Express. You may here them late at night. The even numbers are going away from ILN, odd numbers are going to ILN.

I saw a Swift Aviation Citation X taxi out of MDW the other day....they were using the Jetspeed callsign. Since the original post stated they heard it in and out of PHX (Swift's base) I figured that callsign was assigned to Swift.

The "Jetspeed" callsign is assigned to EJMs charter certificate. Therefore if any of their vendors (Swift, Avbase, Thunder, etc) are operating under EJMs ticket, they will be using the same callsign.

I guess after 11/1/2002 you'll be hearing Swift use the "Options" callsign.

Avbase

I fly for Avbase and purposely mispronounce it on dark lonely nights Ass Face from time to time. Cracks the captain up!!
