I have had people tell me to go ahead and call the PD to 'bug' them about when I could get an interview. I have never called any of my previous employers. I submitted my credentials and I got the call for an interview and got offered the job in all three cases.
Has anyone called the SW PD to find this information out? What kind of response did you get? Those who are employed by SW, did you call?

I called them back in APR of 2001, Just kinda polietly asking what time frames were for being called. They offered me an interview right then. Things have changed a lot since then though.

I have called them before, twice. They are very friendly and helpful. I wouldn't badger them (obviously), but the occasional checkup probably wouldn't hurt. I actually called Ryan in the PD, he wasn't in so I left a message and he did call me back a few days later.

Go ahead and call them if you have a question about your app.

Here's my take. If you just "put your stuff in" and sit by.......... what makes you any different than the next guy? If you are equally qualified but you took the effort to call and introduce yourself?????????????

I called them and the nice lady who took my call said let me do some checking and I will get back with you. Fifteen minutes later, the PD called me back with an interview offer.

worked for me

I called this morning. I had my app in (right after type/ATP at HPA) on 2 Oct. About 60% of my B737 class had already been called. I asked to 'go over my application - in case I had overlooked something.' The PD Flight Ops Coordinator informed me that I was on a list to be called and we set up the interview date then and there. So, right now I'm pretty much all smash and no vector.

Calling the SWA PD for an interview? Man, that seems ballsy and bold. I think I'll call tomorrow. Hope they dont' mind the flood of phone calls!!

Are you white? If you are white, and are applying to Southwest, you're wasting your time.

Yeah you're probably right. I think UAL hires all the white folks.
