Maybe just a typo, but the A-10 had 2 kills in The Storm. And; a Tomcat had 1 kill. 36+2+1=39. Did the Hornet get a couple more? Also, didn't an EF-111 get credit when an F-1 chasing hit hit the desert?

Bitburg Eagles had the most with 17, Eglin followed with 16 (they like to claim the most fighters since all their kills were against fixed wing aircraft), Langley Eagles had 1, Saudi F-15s had 2. Total 36

Navy Hornets had 2 (the previously mentioned ones). A-10s shot 2 helos.
So I guess that's 40. Okay so, 36 out of 40.

As far as the "cats and dogs". An F-15E dropped an LGB on a helo. I've never heard of the F-14 helo kill. I've seen the guy on "Vulture's Row" list it, but I've never seen anything official. The EF-111 was in the general vicinity when an Iraqi pilot happended to fly into the ground - 'nuff said.

F-15 = GINORMOUS strafe rag

j/k, not really. But I do love it when they are conning for the world to see in front of the strike package to lay waste.

Oooh,
Killing machine or not, conning in front of the strikers is poor form. If we did that on our Desert Storm missions we heard about it.

Doesn't the F-15 community have another ring they are famous for?? I remember it being back at Kadena but there was also some drivers at Bitburg.

"ring"??

Adler,
Looks like 6 Feb 91, a Tomcat got an Mi-8. One website says 8 Dec 90 (Desert Shield), but most sources show the Storm date.

They were from VF-1 "Wolfpack" out of Miramar. They were on the USS Ranger during DS-I.

My favorite kill of all time is the Navy EP-3 kill of that stupid Chinese idiot a couple years back... What was that dude flying a Q-5 or something? I forget now. Too damned funny to get whacked by a turboprop.

Maybe he's referring to the little incident involving a crew chief and an Eagle driver. "Brokeback Alert Facility" or something along those lines....

500 years from now, as guys are cranking up their X-wings for another lousy Death Star sortie, someone will STILL be talking about "The Kadena Incident". Hopefully they'll also mention "The Vegas Incident", where a Lawn Dart driver put on women's clothing for a night out on the town "with the boys".

All in good fun. I'm just an old fart worried more about the crew meal than AIM-7 kinetics and MiG-29 EM diagrams.
