I've had my res posted on airline apps for almost a year for cal. Is there even a chance that they will look at it or do I need someone to walk it in? Thanks

I don't think they are interviewing right now. But, I think it is highly unlikely you will get a call unless someone inside is pulling for you.

They are interviewing right now but it's highly unlikely you will get an interview without a recommendation. If you know anyone there have them write you a letter and walk it in to their chief pilot. That will make a big difference.

I'm not sure if CAL goes to the job fairs but if they do that would help too.

Good luck!

The only way to get an interview at CAL is to have someone that a cheif pilot respects. (read some one who has been there a while and has a good rep) to put in a letter of Rec for you and then have that same person sit down and talk to a CP about you.

I have been at CAL since April (18th class) and I honestly can say that no one that I met got hired with out some sort of internal pull.

PS... Don't get on a CAL jumpseat and try to talk a pilot into writing you a rec. Its really tacky.

It's been said, you need a rec. and someone to walk your stuff in to a CP or fleet manager's office.

What hasn't been said is that CAL has enough quality apps with rec.s that they don't go to the job fairs anymore. For an an airline that is so focused on efficiency it is simply a waste of money.

Cheers

O.K., this is where a guy like myself, someone who would really like to work for Continental, has to ask this. How should I know or get to know someone who works there? I live in a small town with no contact with CAL employees. Suggestions.
