I think that the government should agree to never give them a dime in support again to any airline that doesn't make money this quarter. Load factors are at an all time high and ticket prices are up an average of 7%. If you can't make money now, you never will.

This is the perfect time to trim the fat and get rid of some of these "tired" airlines. All they do is crowd the sky and slow growth at healthy airlines.

Maybe the airlines don't want to show profits. Hard to cancel pensions, cut salaries, and say no to future raises when you're making money.
