You mean the one that was supposed to come out in May?

Seriously I think August 13th or so.

I don't know.

-mgmt- keeps reminding us that everything is "fluid". So expect a starley-gram (pilot bulletin) sooner or later.

I heard a CA in the ewr Crew room say his FO was notified by phone that he wasn't going to be furloughed next month now. Sorry no other details. I almost went in to ask the CP but I knew the answer I was going to get...the whole "fluids" thing.

Consider this pot stirred.

It was out today for a few hours, then taken down. They obviously messed it up because as a Feb 07 hire I could hold Newark 777 Captain, go figure.

That sounds a little fuzzy to me. I was only furloughed by 12 numbers and I have heard nothing. Unless of course they are going to "un-furlough" less than 12 guys. Who knows.

He probably got a 'crackgram' from the crashpad lawyers like I did. Accurate or not, that's actually more timely info than you'll ever get from the company.

This would be the first time in my life that someone in the airline biz lied to my face.;)

If I see the guy again I'll give him mine and your regards... if it turns our to be a bald faced lie.

Honestly at this point I would be willing to believe anything good.

The one that opened for a short period of time showed 433 less pilots. Current results (which are not final till Friday) show roughly 400 pilots saved due to the lower credit lines, ERW, LTVRF, COLA's. It doesn't really add up to 147 furloughs.

Like it was said above, it was supposed to be out yesterday, so who the heck knows.

This may prop up the 777 staffing on the bid.

NEW YORK, Aug. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL - News) today announced that it will launch daily nonstop flights between its New York area hub at Newark Liberty International Airport and Shanghai, China and through flight service between Cleveland and Shanghai beginning March 25, 2009, subject to government approval. Effective today, the airline has made seat inventory available for sale in preparation for the start of service less than eight months from now.

Continental will operate the nonstop flight daily with a Boeing 777-200 aircraft. Flight 87 will depart Liberty at 11:20 a.m., arriving in Shanghai mid-afternoon the following day at 1:45 p.m. The return flight 86 will depart Shanghai in the afternoon at 3:45 p.m. and arrive at Liberty in the evening of the same day at 6:20 p.m. Flying times will be approximately 14 hours and 30 minutes in each direction.

Rumor now is that bid is being postphoned while company/union negotiate no furloughs in exchanged for relaxed scope.

Scope is the only good thing that CAL pilots have. Once again it is the best by default. Just like LUV pay scales. It was once really bad, but now the best by comparison.

It probably has more to do with pending change over to a new alliance and the current a/c that already fly into our hubs via UAUA. Right now it is not allowed.
