CAL Stopped Interviewing?

Heard that CAL has stopped interviewing this summer. Is this because the classes are getting backed up, or what?
Heard they are useing the 737 sim now... Which version? 400?

They are currently using the 737-300 round dial. It wouldnt really make sense to stop the interviews. They ramped up early b/c they were told to get 500 through class by March. Now there are rumors of the number getting up to 750. Even if they did stop for a little while, i wouldnt fret...they've still gotta fill the classrooms.

From what I have been told, interviews will resume on August 1. CAL has a large pool of pilots with offers that will cover clesses through the end of August. Most of these pilot's class dates have been moved up a month or two due to an increase in hiring.

New system bid comes out in late August which will account for retirements and marketing plan for 2008. Anticipation is that this bid will be at least as big as the last one.

Correction: they just moved it to Late July....seems they are behind the curve..

As far as the sim goes the last I heard was the 300 but they can use whatever is available. We don't have a 400 so the only options would be 300/500/NG. Good luck.

They are interviewing, but at a slower pace through the summer. I think they will be picking up the interviews shortly to fill the August classes. I have a friend interviewing on the 25th, or somewhere around there, of this month

I've got a guy interviewing on the 11th of this month so I think the never stopped only slowed down.

Earlier posters were saying CAL was slowing/stopping interviews this summer. Then, they said CAL had ramped up hiring to maximum capacity every month through the summer.

I'm not sure if this latest info is new, that the hiring has slowed, or if it's old and that hiring is continuing at maximum indefinitely.

Officially we have 25 people going through class in July and 24 going through class in August. After that we ramp back up to 64/month(officially) but I have been hearing it will go to 100/month(unofficially)

I flew with an instructor the other day. He gave these same numbers as well.

well, they're advertising on employment sites as of yesterday or the day before. Of course, the way airlines work this probably means that they're about to furlough about 3000 pilots.

Do I still need to know someone there to get a call?
