No, I could care less what I fly.

On the other hand, you DO sound like a baby - crying on FI to your CAL buddies about CHQ. Do you think XJT would take the high road and not bid on larger aircraft for CAL, if it was allowed by the scope??

Yeah, right!

We have plenty of flying right now - too much for our idiotic planning dept to figure out how to staff. We don't need anymore from CAL at the moment, maybe later.

P.S. Palomino, stop acting like a little b!tch, your XJT pals are doing just fine, they have a good mngt group that is seeking out other opportunities - it may even prove to be a good thing for them.

XJT is going to fail miserably in the point to point flying arena. Here's why:

1) 80% of the proposed city pairs are shared with SWA.

2) In order to make money going point to point, you MUST go through a major metropolitan area( dense population).

3) The RJ is already at a 60-70% disadvantage to the 737 in those markets due to seat numbers. The markets XJT plans to operate in will not yield an additional 60-70%.

4) There is already a blueprint for this plan; Independance Air.

I'm not saying this to be mean, just my opinion of what's glaringly obvious. I have friends at XJT, and I don't want to see the airline lose pilots. But the management at XJT is, in my opinion, not savy enough to make this work.

However, good luck for what it's worth.

You just proved you don't really know what the XJT business plan is.

On a side note we have been told that we only need about 30 people on board to be happy with the loads and anything above that is gravy. How many people have to be on board a Southwest aircraft to be profitable? Honestly things here at XJT are changing rapidly and its a little scary but exciting also. We shall see how it plays out.

Nobody thought SWA would work also. Going head to head with AA and CAL. Giving out bottles of booze to entice customers to fly their airline. Everybody talking down about them. Now look. The best business opportunities are sometimes the ones that nobody sees. And if you put INDY and XJT side by side you will see only one comparison. THE RJ. But that is like comparing SWA to the old MARK AIR. You both flew 737's.

You just proved you don't really know what the XJT business plan is.

I read that business plan on that new lame-ass internal website. Maybe you need to go re-read what Semak was writing. By the way, Semak gives the new plan a less than 50% chance of being viable.

What are you talking about? Someone is making something up!

Nobody thought SWA would work also. Two guys named Herb and Roland thought it'd work...Going head to head with AA and CAL. head to head with AA and CAL? No Sir, WN was going head to head with the automobile. Giving out bottles of booze to entice customers to fly their airline. Everybody talking down about them. Now look. The best business opportunities are sometimes the ones that nobody sees. I sincerely hope you're right. And if you put INDY and XJT side by side you will see only one comparison. I see another comparison: Both lost/are losing mainline flying contracts. THE RJ. But that is like comparing SWA to the old MARK AIR. You both flew 737's. Ah...but the business plan was different.

Like I said, I hope it works out, but it looks like a bad idea right now.

my, my...aren't we touchy?

maybe you can take some of your negative energy and use it to paint your airplanes so they at least resemble the company that you disguise yourself as.

No negative energy here - we're growing with multiple codeshares. Like him or not BB gets the job done!

If I remember correctly, you started this thread crying about CHQ.

RAH told CAL how they would use spares to suppliment when necessary - do you think CAL would allow us to "do our own thing"??

Maybe they should ask your permission, before they do anything else that may upset you. Take your whining elsewhere, if you guys relax scope, everyone including your XJT buddies will jump on it. Cry to someone else.

whining? i'm kettle, you're pot.

BB gets the job done? who is BB? if he's the guy steering your career and retirement down the toilet then he must be a real hero!

nobody is crying here because we have scope. get used to it. we're keeping it.

don't worry...you can pretend to be a mainliner for other suckers at half the respectable wage.

Yawn ............ Old arguments ........... Nobody is "pretending" to be anything, were you "pretending", while you flew at XJT??

Oh, sorry .......... It doesn't apply to XJT guys, they're better than the others.

Ha Ha......

Palomino, for your info, CHQ guys are getting called up to all the majors - bet you don't rant as much when there is one in the crewroom - you're an internet toughie!!

By the way, BB is our "spiritual leader" (inside joke) - he gets the job done for the shareholders, not the line pilots (regarding growth).

Don't worry, there'll be plenty left to go around.

Isn't it time for your milk and cookie, Timmy??? Now stop playing on daddy's computer and off to bed ..........

man...you have some aggression issues.

internet toughie? yep. that's me. just following your lead, amigo.

i enjoyed my time at XJT and will always have fond memories of the place. i wish my friends over there continued success. they serve CAL well.

SCOPE!

It's been fun getting you "wound up" Palomino - remember to keep looking over your shoulder, in case those CHQ "meanies" come and take your job!!

I'll bet your CAL friends rest easier at night, knowing that you are keeping the wolf from the door. Get a life.

why does everyone get so bent out of shape about 170/175's, how are they any different than CRJ700's or 900's? I just don't get it

SCOPE!

I used to work for RAH and am ALL ABOUT SCOPE.

Remember fellow RAH peeps, you won't work there forever.

A regional is not a career and scope is the only thing protecting you from making $75K for the rest of your life.

You sir are an embarrassment to your coworkers at XJET.
You are as dumb as the rest of those kool-aid drinkers if you think that "branded flying" will not tank.

thanks for all the name-calling. you guys are real sweethearts as well as industry experts.

Boyd? ...is that you?

Because CRJ-700s and 900s are large RJs. EMB-170/190s are small Airbii. Mainline aircraft flown for slave wages. Everytime I see one labled as an RJ by the media it pisses me off!

People get bent out of shape about it at CAL, because there is still a scope on jets no larger then 50 seats. So your right there is no difference other than the fact there are no aircraft flying with CAL colors that are larger than 50 seats. and thats how it should stay.

why does everyone get so bent out of shape about 170/175's, how are they any different than CRJ700's or 900's? I just don't get it

I also think that CHQ which has EMB170/175's under their umbrella are now flying for CAL so it would be easy IF WE GIVE UP SCOPE for them to bring them on the property. I think this was part of the reason that CAL picked CHQ hoping we would give up Scope.

so i'm not alone in my belief that CHQ would pounce on the chance to fly 170's for CAL?

the quickest way to erode what little strength we have left in the CAL contract is to relax scope. it simply cannot happen.

pensions must be funded by federal law. they can afford to pay a fair wage in this marketplace. workrules and PBS will be improved. and none of this will be forsaken for career-killing scope relaxation.

274 50-seaters 'snuck in' under the current agreement. what's wrong with this math? think the company would ONLY want 17 E-170's?

SCOPE!

They can have them, but it wont say Express, Connection, etc on the side. I will re-state what catIIIc said earlier. This and PBS are probably the two biggest things this pilot group is unified on. CHQ can drool at the opportunity all they want. Aint gonna happen.
