I have been told by 2 people that you need Turbine PIC to be considered at CAL now. I just wanted to know if anyone has been interviewed or hired w/ out it recently.
 
Yes, there have been interns hired w/o turbine PIC, and a few others with very little(<200) turbine PIC. From TSA anyways.

Little was Spring '06 and None + Intern was late summer/Fall '06. This palce is the "poster child" of "it is all who you know."

I was hired in January. My sponsor's chief pilot specifically wanted 1000 PIC turbojet. I recieved the call for an interview within days after hitting 1000. YMMV. Good luck.
 
I hear the min's are increasing from the other companies hiring of qualified applicants also. Good Luck (supply vs. Demand)
 
From what I hear in my class, EWR CPs want 1000 Turbine PIC.....IAH CP let me in with 0 and a good recommendation (non-intern and non-legacy). It seems to be who you know....2 out of 20 in my class had 0 turbine PIC.
 
Met a new hire on a HNL layover who came from the right seat of an ERJ at TSA I believe. Didn't ask too many more questions for fear of offending.
 
Xtreme is correct, not impossible, but you may need several recs without turbine PIC. And for that matter some chiefs want 121 PIC.
 
A chick in my reserve unit had zero turbine PIC.
 
The person from TSA who came from the right seat of the ERJ was a chick. The other person from TSA that was hired with around 250 PIC in the J41 was a black guy. He knew that was why he got the job, at least he was honest about it.
 
I know a chick that CAL hired with <1000 pic jet time.

She was sleeping with the owner of a frac operation, and she logged PIC every leg from the right seat.

I guess she earned it......Perpetuating the stereotype
