Hey guys,

Do any of you know how many pilots have been hired at CAL since this hiring spree began? From what I understand it started in April 2005 at about 60 a month.

Say about 10 months of 60 pilots being hired a month would make about 600 new pilots. Is that ball park or am I way off? Thank you in advance!

According to the latest list published by CAL Membership committee there are 652 new hires from 4/5/05 up to and including the 4/4/06 class. The new hires from 4/5/05 till 5/17/05, were, I think, all pre 9/11 hires that had classes canceled and were put through as a group of 84. "Off the street" hiring began 6/7/05, and these were mixed classes of about 230 or so ExpressJet people who had been offered jobs in 2002? or 2003, and off the street people. These ExpressJet people were mixed in with "off the street" untill they were all offered a class date. I think they have all been offered class dates ny now, how many of them took the class, I don't know. If they all took the class date then only about 330 of the new hires are ones who have interviewed and started since the application window opened last April.

beat me by 3 minutes TG
