Can someone please clarify this? "1000 Fixed wing PIC or 500 PIC and 500 SIC in a turbojet" Does this mean that the 1000PIC has to be in a turbojet as well? Then those of us with turboprop time will not get called?
 
I believe you're tinking too hard. If you have 1000 PIC fixed wing, you're golden. They just hold a hand out to ya if you're short on PIC but have jet time. I know 2 turboprop guys with jack all jet time that have been called. These are some of the most generous minimums in the whole bloody industry.
 
I heard the average applicant has over 10,000 hours with 5 type ratings.
 
I heard from one of my FOs that he knows of at least 1 Mesa DH8 FO called for an interview already. The MESA guy met the 1000 PIC but has no 121 PIC. You figure it out. I'd put an app in if you meet the mins.

I STRONGLY URGE ALL you pilots out there that don't have at least 10,000 hours, which is the "typical" applicant at CAL. NOT TO APPLY!!!

PS-I DO meet the minimums at CAL-about the only big airline out there that I do meet them for.
 
Actually there are lower and easier mins...the problem is that these airlines have thousands on furlough and about to go Tango Uniform!
