are cal's c.p. open for walk in visits from pilots looking for an interview?
is iah an option? training center? is it even possible to personally visit pilot recruitment to drop off a resume.

i know no one at cal to write a letter of rec.

I can't speak to their opinion of walk ins. I was fortunate to do an informal meet 'n greet, but was escorted by my sponsor, and got a warm reception. The base c.p.'s are behind security, and then behind coded doors off the concourse. The training center at least has a receptionist who could help you out. Recruitment is physically close, just upstairs from the lobby.

Walking in to recruitment will get you nothing. Walking in to a CP's office without a sponsor will get you nothing. It is very much a good 'ol boys network.

You could role the dice and find out. It would only work in the training department. I've never heard of anyone getting in this way but you never know.

It could work or it cause a blackball.

Good luck.

Well I've heard of guys who make a plaster mold of their foot and litterally drop it off at the airline they want to work for stating that they "just want to get their foot in the door". And no, I'm not making this up.

I visited the EWR CP last Sept (2005). I spent an hour in his office where he pulled up my app, reviewed it and spoke about my lack of a "sponsor" among other stuff. In so many words he said as long as I got a CAL guy to vouch for me the "door" would open very wide, wink wink.

That was a year ago. Just last week a long lost flying buddy (furloughed TWA) called and he has been there about a year now. He's penning some fibs on my behalf as we speak so i guess we will see if the visit helps, that if i get the call.
