I have heard several past interns have been hired recently, have they just filled the online app and received a call? Did any call or talk to the chief pilots directly? Have people walk resumes in? Any help would be appreciated, PM me

I just had a intern that I had worked with in '94, fly F/O for me. Great guy, and deserved everything that came to him.

He alluded that his conections while working in the different offices helped get him in the front door. (Note: he was NOT under qualified) I think this is a great way for a company to find a known quality, talented, loyal employee.

Again if you have meet someone like one of the "Freds", it can't hurt to contact them.

Definitely, I did have my old boss write a letter of rec for the online app. But since he works downtown at HQ I dont know the chances of him being able to walk a resume into the CPO. I filled out the Addendum at the end of the app and am hoping that the 'intern' status helps it stand out a little bit. Thanks for the reply, hoping for the best!

Have your boss at least make a phone call over to the pilot recruiting. I have learned that filling out the online app does nothing to get your resume noticed in the computer system. You need to get someone to go talk to a chief or training manager, or to at least make a phone call over there. He doesn't need to hand a resume in to anyone. It's all done on line.

I wasn't an intern, so I don't know about the "intern" on the addendum, but that might help. Still, I'd probably get your old boss to make a phone call over there or at least ask him what the process is. That may prod him to get it done, as well.

Good luck!
