CAL pilots,

What is your favourite hat? I understand there is Bancroft and some other kind available (don't know what manufacturer).
Is it only Bancroft on our link to Cintas website?

Thanks a lot.

I use Bancroft and it is a good hat. I not sure if that's the only hat with Cintas, I ordered it online at Bancrofts website.

All head heaters suck. I have Bancroft. Call them directly and spend about $40 or so. Of course, I bought mine years ago.

Superior Hats also makes a uniform hat. That's the big, ugly wedding cake type that you don't want.

Hopefully we can get leather jackets and ditch the goofy hat.

Superior hats are a perfect circle, like Charlie Brown's head, so they never quite fit right.

Bancroft is pre-broken in to the shape of real head, more oval-like. Get Bancroft.

Bancroft is now $50 plus $9 shipping and a 3-4 week wait (as of last week). The stopover store in IAH has the hat in stock for $55.

Or just get your company to go to a Hats Optional policy. I can probably count on one hand the number of guys that still wear the hat since this went into effect at my airline. The hat is just outdated.........

Yeah, hats are outdated.......

Like the ******************************bags I see in ORD with no hat, an iPod, and a backpack, sucking on an ice cream cone.

Ever wonder why the public thinks we're overpaid bus drivers?

Yeah, wearing your hat will change all that. The public must think those sky caps are gods....I mean they wear their hats all the time, right?

hats are stupid. they only look nice when they are brand new from the package on day one in 60 degree weather. the only purpose they serve is to screw up your hair, make you sweat, and make you look like a dork.

passengers don't care if you wear a hat. they only see a uniform and not a pilot. most airline uniforms look the same throughout the customer service ranks. ie: pilots, f/a's, gate agents, etc all appear the same to a flying customer. the hat does nothing to indicate that we are pilots.

it's a waste of time & money and frankly makes pilots look worse if you ask me. especially the people that simply carry them around or fold them up like a piece of cardboard. they look awful and aren't getting any better.

i try to present a professional appearance. but when the hat becomes deformed and/or broken with just a few uses its hard to keep up.

hat rant complete.

I am way to cool to wear a hat, besides it messes up my hair gel so my spikes wont stay up. If I have flat hair I wont be nearly as cool. LOL
