CAL and AAL Int'l jumpseat Question

Hello everyone I am trying to get down to Port of Spain, Trinidad and it looks like the only way in there (other than a hit or miss flight on Eagle) are the direct flights out ot MIA on AA or EWR on CAL. After 9/11 both of these airlines implemented policies that restricted international jumpseating to the majors (more or less). I tried AA once and was promptly denied by the gate agent. Can anyone tell me if these policies are still in place at your respective airlines? I fly for Air Wisconsin so if the lists are still in place can someone check to see if we are on them? I suggest you talk to your jumpseat co-ordinator, if you haven't already done so.

I jumpseated with Continental to Central America 2 weeks ago with no problem. American is not allowing any off-line international jumpseating according to our (a major) jumpseat co-ordinator.

AA does allow international jumpseaters if you are one of the few carriers on their "international list". I rode with them about 4 weeks ago. I think it is a bogus policy to have a domestic list and an international list. Kind of like having a B-scale. With all of the concessions they gave, one would think they could have gotten rid of such a ridiculous policy in return.

In fairness though, it has been my experience that the pilots would welcome you aboard if you could just get by the Nazi gate agents (especially MIA).
