A guy demanded that Buzz Aldrin swear on a Bible that he walked on the moon with Neil Armstrong in 1969. Next thing you know Aldrin punches the guy in the face and the cops come!

Go Buzz! About time someone had enough of these conspiracy kooks and hit em!

These same types also demand that NASA point the Hubble telescope at the moon, to prove there was a moon landing

they don't even have to point the hubble at the moon to prove it. scientists still bounce lasers off the reflectors that were left at the six landing sites.

ok, I'll play

I'm all up for a story about a good punch in the face by a 72 y/o man. That is good stuff.

My question for 414 is do you have any other proof than gov't distributed video and news about the event?

Why not point the hubble at it?

I'm not saying they did or didn't, just wondering out loud.

Ahhh.....

This reminds me of the movie "Capricorn One"
It makes a good point, Anybody seen it.
Just a good movie to think about a little, that's all.
I'm not a 'kook', but we tend to believe what we are told, whether that be true or false (from the Gov't, news, etc. that is).
And yes, I think we landed on the moon.

Naw you are a kook

Well... If they want us to point the Hubble at the moon and use its' cameras to "prove" that we landed there, wouldn't that be government-supplied information, too? :)

Well there were thousands of HAM radio operators around the world tracking it
Governments around the world, especially ones not very friendly to us, were watching it also, and would have loved to expose a hoax.
Mirrored laser reflectors places there
Moon rocks (they are geologically different)
Plenty of civilian companys and groups involved in effort

Why should NASA bother pointing the hubble at the moon just , to satisify some fringe conspiracy kooks, and prove a point that 99.95 percent of the people believe anyways?

Some of these kooks who claim there was not a moon landing, harass the astronauts a lot, and one even sued Aldrin too.

Theres' still people out there that believe the earth is flat too. Well, it is ... isn't it?

I still like the clips of the guys playing golf on the moon.

Gotta love conspiracy theories--I guess that's what happens when people fly night-freight and listen to Art Bell on the ADF all night...
And remember, just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not really after you!!!

How about the theory that the earth is only 6,000 years old, carbon-dating is a sham, and everything in the Old Testament is a literal truth and should be taught as science. Wait a second! That's what they're teaching our kids in some states!

This sounds like a fun one...

Not for nothing, but a few months back the Discovery channel aired a show asking the same question. And during the course of the show they had many experts for both sides.

Some of the experts were pros in the Photo industry. They showed how some photos that were supposed to be taken at different parts of the moon at different times were actually the same pictures only reversed. They were using mountain ranges and such to prove their points.

They also used things like sun position and earth position to prove that additional lighting was used in most pictures, and adjusted some of the speeds on the movies of them ridding around on the moon mobile and it looked like it was ridding around on just some ordinary dirt road.

One other one I remember was a guy showing how there is no dust on the landing gear and no blast marks from the rocket that was supposed to help them land. He said something like,"since the dust is very fine it should have been everywhere and was'nt".

Some things just have to make you think. We all know the gov. is pretty much able to do what it wants most of the time. I am not saying that we did or did'nt just that there are some really good theorys with some min. evidence that it may have been staged.

After all if you think back to the time and how much of a rush there was to get there(politically), anything is possible.

I question everything.

Any irony in the fact that OJ Simpson was one of the astronauts in Capricorn One?

"How about the theory that the earth is only 6,000 years old, carbon-dating is a sham, and everything in the Old Testament is a literal truth and should be taught as science. "

This theory is just like the one that 'God' is a grey-haired, old puppet-master in the sky and he only looks out for white Protestant Christians and so everyone else is doomed. In a couple hundred years (or so) I hope we've evolved to the point of doing away with this nonsense.

About the moon ...
The day the landing took place I was watching it (I was six or seven) on an old B&W tele with my grandfather and the minute they stepped down the power went out in the little rural community we lived in. My grandfather walked off mumbling "Well now they've done it! I hope they jab their a$$ on that thing."

He thought the moon was sharp and pointy at the ends like most drawn pictures (the quarter moon profile). :D

For conspiracy theories, try looking in the ygbsm section and look for the Chemtrails thread. Kooks out there believe the government is flying "spray" planes over the population (they're seeing contrails).
