Major Facility Expansion Planned by Gulfstream
gulfstream.jpg
Gulfstream Aerospace, which experienced a 12-percent increase in aircraft production last year compared with 2004 and expects that growth to continue, revealed plans yesterday for a $300 million expansion of manufacturing and service facilities at its Savannah, Ga. headquarters. This project, to unfold over the next seven years, includes a new 570,000-sq-ft service center–more than twice the size of the existing center. The existing service center will be converted into a manufacturing facility, and a new 222,000-sq-ft manufacturing building will also be constructed. Additionally, Gulfstream will build two 42,600-sq-ft paint hangars. Gulfstream’s main administrative building will be renovated to include a new sales and design center. To ensure a growing pool of potential employees to fill the some 1,100 jobs expected to be created by this expansion, Gulfstream will participate in new job-training programs. In addition to the State of Georgia’s Quick Start program, the company will work with Savannah Technical College on programs specially tailored for its employment needs.

Seems like business is good for everyone...Dassault LIT has been expanding significantly over the last several years. Now gearing up for the 7X arrival. Let's hope it continues for all of us !!

Don't be a loser. What does this have to do with politics? We could get into discussions about both parties and the fiscal mistakes both have made. Lets leave politics out of this and quit comming to play and jus trepeating what you heard your dad say.

Also, with 3800 hours, maybe you should concentrate less on politics and look into getting that ATP. Professionals usually have that at this point in their careers, provided they can pass the checkride.

If you're lucky they won't outsource the flying to some cheap indians. But that's the republican way so watch out. Screw you pilots you're just hired help.

Ummm, no. Keep junk like that off of here and I'll not have to respond.
Attention posters: Keep all humorous political jabs to yourself so Blackjet doesn't "have" to respond with something constructive like this:

Those "cheap indians" are saving boeings bacon.... something like 28 787's, 28 777's and 18 737's FIRM orders not pie in the sky options. Besides that have you checked any jobs board.... India is a NET importer of pilots ... oh I forgot you dont have the quals's anyway. Aviation in India is growing at about 20% a year.

F*** everything else India is the "MOST U.S.A FRIENDLY" country according to the PEW research foundation, a big deal if you are aware what is happening in the world today especially in that neck of the woods. My point being ..... get some smarts .... get your head outta your Arse and appreciate America and as well as countries like India... incidentally the "worlds largest democracy" who are on our team.

My appologies for this quasi political rant but ignorance irritates the kwap outta me.......

I resent that. All right I really don't, I am the answer to outsourcing flight departments. I work at Flex Jet and we are growing! Watch out we are coming to your neighborhood.

when Joes Lemonade Stand needs to hire a Lemonade Helper because this summer is extremely hot, that job is directly attributed to George W. Bush
