They can auction off the slots, but what happens when there are no gates to accomodate any new airlines or added flights? Whoops....

The government can force you to sell your house so they can sell the land to a developer to build a casino, why does this surprise anyone?

The tail of representative government is wagging the dog of those represented. TC

Why? It's a public airport.

What next, throw private vehicles off of overcrowded highways?

Yes. And create a reliable public mass transit system in each metropolitan area.

But instead our politicians look the other way and line their pockets with your tax dollars.

One thing that would help alleviate the congestion (though not by much) is to throw the GA and corporate aviation off the property.

Everytime I go into LGA there are only 3 to 4 other private A/C on the ramp and yes the last time we paid a hefty landing fee also. Most of our owners just use a helicopter and come over to TEB as we can get in and out of there faster.

Sorry bud, I have the fortune to operate regularly into LGA and I can tell you that I can't remember ever seeing more than twoGA airplane operations in any one hour period. GA ain't the problem. There's darn near 10 million people in the NY area served by three airports main. That's the problem. Until the locals get together with the Feds and build more runways, the congestion will continue.

What part of "though not by much" did you not understand?

Retard. 2-4 flights an hour vs 45 will solve all of LGA's problems.

Try eliminating half full RJ's first and you could opne up a GA flight school @ LGA with all of the open ldg slots.

If you want to do away with the GA traffic, maybe an airline should attempt to by LGA, and not use any federal or state money to run it.

Airborne Express (ILN) in Ohio is a privatley owned airport. It works pretty well for them. They let in only who they want.

Just go to a user fee system and LGA will become the new Teterboro. All one has to do is look at the balance sheets of the nations (BK) airlines Vs. the balance sheets of the nations largest corporations to determine who has the cash to pony up for the prime slots.

Heck, When (not if) we decide to privatize our system (just like the rest of the world has already done). I would expect Warren Buffett (Berkshire Hathaway) to jump all over this. Oh, by the way who does Berkshire Hathaway own? Net Jets. He already has over 1,200 aircraft and owns Flight Safey. imagine when he owns the airports too.

Dont' forget who ponies up the most in PAC contributions to the folks in charge.
