Speedtape,
You obviously haven't read the contract or paid attention to the displacement bid that was just issued. It is very important that people have their bid form filled out in a diplacement. For example, if a junior CR2 Captain is displaced from his position, he DOES have options on where to go! He may either displace a more junior AT7 Captain or choose to displace a more junior CR2 FO. If you actually look at the displacements, you can tell who has filled their bid sheet out for this scenario (take a look at where each of the 10 CR2 Captains will be displaced to). Granted, some will be too junior to hold onto the ATR left seat, but others will certainly have the option.
If you're going to come on here and write all this crap like you actually know what you're talking about, you might want to do a little homework first. I certainly don't know what's going to happen with all this, but judging from the accuracy of your post, it's clear neither do you. The rest of your post is filled with BS, but I'm not going to waste my time responding. However, it's pretty important people know that THEY MUST fill out their bid sheet if they want a say in where they go in a displacement!
Now back to the same retarded whining that goes on here by the same 10 people that none of us can probably stand to fly with anyway!
Actually, after further review, I stand partially corrected! I have read the contract, again and again. Refer to Sec. 24 Filling of Vacancies, paragraph G., subparagraph 2, including a. (1), (2), and (3), then b. (1) and (2).
These are the steps taken in a displacement and are controlling. The bid preference form
may come into play, during this process in Sec. 24, G2., a.(2) and then possibly in b.(2). The key words are "more."
When you reread this portion, pay attention to the definition of "Category" and "Status!" These terms and the language become very important in the displacement process.
Thanks for the lecture. I am not afraid to be wrong or partially wrong. The important thing in the process of communication and debate is to gain knowledge or reaffirm your position. I have just done both. The learning process is continuous and evolving--an ongoing process.
You have been a resource in that process by challenging my post. I am not concerned with being right but knowing what's right. After the challenge and more technical reading of the displacement paragraph, you are also partially correct. However, there is more to the process than just having a current and adequate bid on file. Sec 24G.2 and the steps within, dictate the rules of engagment in displacement.
Bottom line, a current bid on file with sufficient choices
may come into play under certain circumstances in the displacement process. The thing that most people don't understand is that a current bid on file does not automatically let you default to the choice or choices under your current position, when your current position no longer exists.
This matter is settled, now let's discuss the other things in my post that you don't like.
