With over 4,000 passengers stranded in Hawaii, why doesn't CAL, UAL, NWA, and DAL get a few 777's, A-330's, 747's, and whatever else they have lying around and make a few trips back and forth between HNL and the mainland. Sell the tickets on e-bay to the highest bidder and get those people back home while bringing in a great profit?
I'm obviously kidding about selling them to the highest bidder but seriously, is there something in the rules that would prevent that? Maybe those 4,000 people should break up into groups of 250 and call the airlines for a charter.
