does anyone know why at the end of south park they have shot of a braiff jet and the word 'believe' under the braniff logo?

Because they will be back!! (Braniff)

.. You better belief it!

(they will fly a 727 for ERJ rates..)

It is because when they recorded their original pilot (The Spirit of Christmas) they did it on an old VHS tape....they had recorded over something that they had taped on TV so that when the pilot episode ended, the original recording was on a Braniff commercial.....they said they left it in there for nostalga...

Now, the real trivia is who can tell me the name of the song thats being played over the Braniff commercial. Its only a few notes and its from a movie.

Can you tell that I like Trey Parker and Matt Stone?

Matt Stone

That Braniff thing at the end has been on a billion other shows too...must have something to do with the production.

I believe it's "It's a Schpedoinkal Day" from Cannibal! The Musical by Trey Parker. Everybody knows that one, dude!

:D

Splaining things to people that can't feed or clothe themselves will give you a migrane.

Hey lowly,

I used to fly traffic watch as well, a while back. Nothing like flying circles for 3 hours. You don't fly for Direct flight do you. Sorry to get off subject.

Media Flight (report to Metro Traffic in SAT). Lot's o fun. It's a nice break from instructing every day.

My understanding was, Trey Parker's parents both worked at Braniff. I read that a long time ago on another pilot message board so I can't vouch for the truth of it.

From their official website....in the FAQ's

November , 2001

Q. - What's with the Braniff Airlines bit at the end of each episode? Believe it?
A. - I believe I've answered this before, but I'll do it again...for laughs. When Matt and Trey delivered the pilot to Comedy Central, they didn't have a bumper (you know, that card at the end of the show that tells you who created it).

Not having an appropriate company name or logo to use (Avenging Conscience notwithstanding), they tossed in the logo of Braniff Airlines - a defunct airline from the 60s and 70s - the music is the melody from "Cannibal." After the show aired, they were contacted by a company that owned the rights to the Braniff name and logo. An agreement was made to allow them the use of the logo on South Park broadcasts, but not on any other projects in the future.

Let that be a lesson to you kids. Always consult your lawyer.

And ATRedneck is the winner of the song!
