Anyone live around BOS? I'm going to be moving there in a few weeks. Any and all advice is welcome!!! Anyone looking for a roomate? I'm a new flight attendant, so I won't be around much! Please help me!!!!!

I'm not a Bostonian but I did live there for a year in 1989/90. I found the area just north of the airport was the most convenient to live for getting to and from the airport. You might look at Winthrop and Revere Beach where a lot of Flight Attendants and pilots have crash pads. Those are excellent because you could live close enough to the Blue Line of the MBTA to not need a car. The Blue line serves the airport and on into downtown. If you have a car and want to live further away then Swampscott and Marblehead are okay as well.

Boston is a great city, have fun.

Don't get too close to the airport in Revere. There's a lot of houses, but it looks kinda sketchy around there where all the satellite parking lots are. If you're willing to drive just a little, 50 minutes from the airport and you can be in southern New Hampshire, an hour away and you can be in quiet Kittery, Maine, near the coast, and with an outlet mall down the street. One factor to keep in mind is that during the summer, Friday evening Northbound and Sunday evening southbound is a disaster on I-95. The're widening it to 3 lanes, which should help greatly.

The first thing you need to know is that the Red Sox beat the Yankees tonight! Woo-hoo, go 'Sox!

Seriously, though, if you don't plan to spend much time in Boston (always out on trips), then a place near the T (the subway) is vital. Cheap dependable transportation that serves a good portion of the city, how could you go wrong there?

You might want to pick up a 1 month membership to 'Crashpads.com'. I've never used it myself, but I've heard good things.

Boston is an expensive city, so it's best to share a place if possible. Living outside the city is an option, but the metro area is known for it's terrible traffic, and often forces you to plan for traffic that may never materialize in order to ensure an on-time show at BOS. Hence why I recomend using 'the T'.

Good luck, and go 'Sox!
