Just curious doesn't Justin make a line of "aviator" boots?
There are a corporate type and then there is the type I need...the ones that will make it through tons of Jet-A, Snow, Ice, Rain, climbing over a/c...etc.
Anyone know a good website or name? I would appreciate it.

Justin doesn't make an "aviator" boot, but they do make ropers that Sporty's calls "aviator" boots. The Justin 3170 Roper is black and has an oil resistant sole. The TSA guys ran them through the x-ray machine and verified that the only metal in the boot is the nails that hold them together. Mine have never set off the metal detectors. I got mine at www.cavenders.com

This should take you directly to the boots:

Thanks for the help!

I checked out both sites and was able to locate the boots, they are the ones I was looking for!

Not sure if you are still looking. IN DFW there is a place called Cavender's Boots. I am sure other stores carry them as well.

The name of the boot is the Justin ATP. Just bought mine. They are great, they also have a kevlar shank instead of metal.

It is great!! TSA looks at the boots and before they can say anything I say "Don't even think about asking me". I then walk through with a wand guy looking at me like a whooper with extra cheese then I am able to say my second line. "You wanted a piece of me, didn't ya"!!!

All kidding aside, great boot, looks good, feels good and pisses of the TSA>>>>

This cracked me up...so easy to picture I guess. I imagine just the look on TSA's face the first time you walk through just about covers the pricetag! Thanks for the help and a good laugh.

Don't know how they're gonna turn out but, I'm getting ready to try my first pair of Ariat Cobalt Ropers. I've been wearing Luchesse ropers for years, but I've heard good things about the Ariats. I'll keep ya posted.

I've worn Ariat ropers for several years, and the Ariat Cobalt Ropers for the last couple. Very durable and comfortable. By far the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. The Cobalts are even more comfortable than the original Ariat ropers. Also, I have never ever had any problem going through any security checkpoint.

I love men with big hands. www.ngpa.org
Goin' home, late last night
Suddenly I got a fright
Yeah I looked throughout the window and surprised what I saw
Fairy boots were dancing' with a dwarf, all right now!
Fairies wear boots and you gotta believe me
Yeah I saw it, I saw it, I tell you no lies
Yeah Fairies wear boots and you gotta believe me
I saw it, I saw it with my own two eyes, well all right now!
So I went to the doctor, see what he could give me
He said "Son, son, you've gone too far.
'cause smokin' and trippin' is all that you do. "

Kenneth Cole makes a very stylish dress boot that I have been very pleased with. Aldo also has quite a few different boots that are in the new line and are pretty reasonably priced. I prefer these two lines over anything else that I have tried to date.

I'll make the 3rd vote for the Ariat cobalt ropers. very comfy and the carbon-fiber shank is invisible to the TSA nazis. about 120.00ish and available online from various sources

Hmmmmm

I need to check those Ariat Cobalts out. I have a pair of Ariats that I use on the ranch, and they are by far the most comfortable, durable boots I have ever owned. If the cobalts are anything like their other boots, they are worth every penny. Cavenders here in LBB does not have them yet...Guess I'll have to get them when I make it back to DFW!!!!

Update on the Ariat Cobalts

After having them for a couple of months and trying them at ATL and other high stress TSA's, they work like a charm and fit great. Until now, I've only worn Lucchesse ropers, but I just switched brands. Bottom line, great price, all leather, TSA stealth, slip resistent, VERY sturdy. If your in the market go get a pair.

Oh, yeah. They run very true to size.

If you want to order them, this person will give you a good price.

What the heck is a whooper? (ROTFL)

After I left the military, the first captain I flew with on a revenue flight, originally from Scandinavia or Norway asked me if I wanted to go get a whooper! I had to ask him to repeat the question 3-times before I finally figured out what he meant was a whopper - that was good for a moment of laughter for both of us! :D

Oh yeah, to keep this ontopic Ropers - very comfortable although my the first pair I ever got did seem to take a little bit of time to breakin. Maybe I should have gone a size larger because I recall it taking quite a bit of effort to get them off for the first few weeks!

Ropers??

If yer boots don't come to a point how the heck do ya kill the cockroaches in the corner of the kitchen?

Easier to get in the stirrup too.

Ya take careful aim and drown em with Levi Garrett juice! And if ya think that's gross, how do handle the emotional trauma of gettin cockroach guts all over your boot toe?

We better stop before this turns into another anti-redneck post.

Emotional trauma??

Ya mean for the cockroaches that got away?
