What are the main differences (I know that's vague) between the 757 & 767 vs the 777.

I have an opportunity to get some SIM time in the Triple 7 and I just want to get the most out of the experience. I have about 15 hrs in the 76 & 75 SIMS. But I've never even stepped into a 777, not even as a passenger.

My sim partner from initial could answer the question a whole lot better than me since he had come off the 767. I'll give it a shot though. The overhead panel layout is very similar in that the specific systems are in roughly the same place. The 777 is an all glass layout with 6 liquid crystal displays. Two Primary Flight Displays ( PFD ), two Navigation Displays ( ND ), an Engine indication and crew alerting system ( EICAS ) display, and a Multifunction Display ( MFD ). The arrangement goes five across starting from the left with PFD, ND, EICAS, ND, PFD. The MFD is below the EICAS and generally serves the function of checklist display and system display. The electronic checklist is one of the finer features of the aircraft and eliminates the need for a paper checklist for normal, non-normal, and emergency checklists. It displays the proper checklist in the proper order for normal situations and will display non-normals when required. Just make sure to reset it during your intial cockpit set-up.

The ILS is automatically tuned based on the approach selected in the FMS. When it is identifed the actual letters appear on the upper left portion of the PFD. VOR approaches do the same but it is best to manually tune VOR freq and radial as well via the NAV/RAD page of the FMS. All tuning of Navaids is done through the NAV/RAD page of the FMS, but it is usually taken care of automatically.

The FMS is fairly similar in operation with some extra features over the standard 767/757 FMS. It would be almost identical to a 767 with the Pegasus update.

The controls of the 777 are fly by wire. It is somewhat transparent as Boeing still provides control feedback. The primary flight computers eliminate the need to trim for thrust changes, flap/slat changes, and gear changes. You still need to trim for speed changes. You also don't need to add back pressure to the yoke for turns less than 30 degrees of bank as this is automatically compensated for by the PFCs.

Agan, not having flown the 767/757 I hesitate to say much more in the way of differences. Is this the kind of info you are after ?
