Nice photos... that was me in the Coast Guard helo demo. We did a big wagon-wheel formation with the Marine Helos waiting for our turns. On the inbound, over the Golden Gate, a Raptor flew about 500 feet over head of our crew. It was loud but awesome.
 
Incredibly low and close pass! Not to rain on the Naval Aviator's parade and glory, but wasn't that a violation of military flight rules?

I know it would've been a FAR violation if it was a civilian plane. He definitely looked closer than 500 feet to any of those boats.

Or did the Navy exempt the flier for that airshow or in a Navy reg?

Which is why I mentioned Bagram :)

I just didnt feel it needed to start yet another thread about low flying.
