That must be one expensive camera. I can't believe how clear the shot are of number 5.

Funny thing is, some of the spectators on the boats didn't look like they knew a plane was about to fly past them that low and fast.

I probably would have chummed my pants when I heard him go by.

Somewhere in the website it states he didn't fly under the GG bridge, (understandably) but descended from another angle.... curious to know what the rate of descent was from 3000MSL to "23MSL"

Nice photos... that was me in the Coast Guard helo demo. We did a big wagon-wheel formation with the Marine Helos waiting for our turns. On the inbound, over the Golden Gate, a Raptor flew about 500 feet over head of our crew. It was loud but awesome.

Bernard used a D50 with the Nikkor 70-300 VR lens. Not too expensive setup. And actually excellent results with that lens....

Incredibly low and close pass! Not to rain on the Naval Aviator's parade and glory, but wasn't that a violation of military flight rules?

I know it would've been a FAR violation if it was a civilian plane. He definitely looked closer than 500 feet to any of those boats.

Or did the Navy exempt the flier for that airshow or in a Navy reg?

Thanks. And thanks for your service and sacrifice!
