do they hire people that are non military?

They hire non-mil if you have EXTENSIVE time and experience in their platform, say 2000 hours in the CASA flying in Africa on behalf of the UN, etc.

Also, if you are retired State Department Air Wing, with South America time, you could get hired.

But Joe Blow commuter pilot (or furloughed 757 captain) with no other skills won't get hired.

How separate is Blackwater Aviation from the "private security" side? One of the guys who I served with was trying to go there about the same time I got out. (He's all tabbed out, I'm not! Infantry tasks usually w/o air support or pretty much guarenteed medevac, not for me!)

But does a rec from that side count for anything with the aviation department? (With them or the other PMCs?) (Speaking hypothetically, I _know_ I don't have near the flight experience to.. well, anyone really)

Not necessarily true. Well, except for probably the last part.
