Back in the eighties I had a Ninja 600 then the 750. Today I'ld op for the BMW, sporty and can go the distance.

Hate the Hardly Dangerous crowd. Even my brother bought one. He's a CEO but on the weekend put on the black tee shirt and rub on tatoo and he's a biker too. What a poser. I bought him a clip on pony tail for Christmas one year.

'03 KTM 250SX. I worked at a shop for about 5 yrs. 3 while I was in college and then 2 yrs while I was flying and building time. Never really rode on the street to much. Too many cars. If I was to get a street bike, it would be a Ducati. Working in the motorcycle biz for so long, I got to know some Harley dealers. Man, did they rake in the cash! Bunch of rich wanna-be's. Ride a Harley, become a mechanic!

Honda XR650L

1995. Bought it on ebay out of Las Vegas and rode to Spokane last summer. Makes my back, neck, and butt hurt just thinking about it...

Great bike for running around town and limited off road but it's too heavy to really explore the forest in. It's too tall for me.

My first bike was a pull start dirt bike when I was 7. Then I got a YZ-80 at 12. My first road bike was a 1993 Kawasaki Vulcan 500. Then I upgraded to a 1998 Honda Magna, it was a fast bike. I sold it to go to flight school.

Currently I ride a 2003 Honda Shadow Spirit 750, good bike but the saddle is no good after 2 hours. If I had the money I would go buy a Yamaha Road Star Warrior, or a Victory Vegas. Maybe both, if I had the money. Ideally my future garage will hold a couple of cruisers, a dirtbike, and a couple of sportbikes, then I can have a ride for every mood.

cool scooters

I had an '88 K75S. Just right. I havn't got one now, but if I could-maybe a late 80s Moto Guzzi Le Mans or an early 70s (Snortin') Norton Comando (with the rear brake and shifter on the "English" side) or an 80s K100RS or a new Triumph.
Of course the second bike would be the MV Augusta.

V-star 1100. It is awesome for cruising the beach, going to the keys, or St. Augustine. The wife has the 650. It looks virtually the same.

Liter "+" bikes should be at least this

good OR better!

Count em...six pipes, six carbs, dual over head cams, twenty four valves. Smoother than a PT-6. And we don't need the "zoom zoom" little boy. zoom zoom.

Hi...

I drove my 1982 KZ1000 off the showroom floor with 2 miles on her that year. Unforgettable midwest summer night. Still in my garage today with a whopping 12,000 miles on the odometer...and still in showroom condition. Love to just cruise but also love the option of being gone in a heartbeat. Amazing.

photopilot, get the mustang brand seat for the spirit, makes a big difference for you and it's night and day for the passenger seat. I'll second the victory vegas, that's one badazz looking bike!

Got a BMW 1150RT. Great bike. Fast, smooth, quiet. Electronic w/s moves up or down depending on how you feel that day. Heated grips. Would ride others. Wouldn't own any other.

I've seen one of those monsters before, had to do a u-turn and take another look since i couldn't believe it was an inline-6!

Hi-revin or lo-revin? What does the sound compare to? Does it sound like a Valkerie?

Been building and riding custom Harleys since 1974, including a 73 Sportster, a rigid frame 75 Sportster, a 1951 rigid frame fatbob Pan/Shovel, and an 87 custom FXRS. Did an 8 year stint with the second largest bike club in Germany. Had a wreck shortly after which messed my back up, and had to give up riding Harleys.

Looks like there's hope for you guys yet. When I saw the thread title I thought I'd check it out just to hear all the H-D wannabes proclaim the merits of Milwaukee's finest. Frankly, I'm pleasantly surprised that most of my fellow airmain would rather ride a Duck, Beemer or MX'er. As for me, I've owned two Harleys and bunch of Japanese stuff, street and dirt. If you gave me a H-D today I'd sell it before nightfall. They are the biggest pieces of crap out there and most of the folks riding them are posers. My choices would be just about any Ducati or BMW and a few of the naked UJM's, like the ZRX1200R Eddie Lawson retro. My offroad chice would be a big bore thumper from KTM or Honda.
