The same rampers under new management. Oh great.

Same rampers that just got a huge raise, great benefits, and stable employment. But they'll have to perform or they'll be out.

And supposedly, it's not just ramp. Ops, catering, cleaning, fuel, everything. It's going to be like JFK.

Great so our "wonderful" rampers will be DL employees and we are still left being run by ASA/Skywest. So they get S2's and then we'll end up getting bumped by them nonreving when we get blown down to S3C's what a great deal for us!...Whatever!

That lazy ramp dude with his homies is gonna bump you off your commute home! That'll teach ya!

This is the first step in many of taking ASA out of the picture in ATL. Our rampers will more likely than not be employed by DGS. This is not the same as DAL. I would love to see exactly where they are going to be place. It is good news for them, but at the same time I am guessing that they will have to pass all of DAL's pre-employment screening.
Look for DAL to take over the gate next. Basically, DAL knows that flight operations is no the root cause or any cause for the problems on the ATL ramp. There will be more to follow in the next few months trust me.

This will be good for us, just remember that DAL gate agents do not take any crud from out pilots. They will give it right back.

As long as they leave flight ops alone, I think this is a positive.

ASA is looking like one big puppet show. What is SkyWest thinking letting it get to this point? Doesn't look so good for them when the mainline has to take drastic measures like this.

All in the name of whipsawing pilot groups. Way to go SkyW.

I believe that they are going to do that. It basically is talking the layers of the onion away that they believe are the issues. If after that we cannot clean up our stuff then they will take it all away.
BTW SKW is opening a base here. It will me minimally staffed in the near term.

It is also shoring up some of SKW's pass trough costs. DAL feels that they can do it cheaper than we can and not have to pay for the margin as they are now with ASA.

Delta needs to learn that they are a lot of the problem of the ASA operation. First, you get what you pay for. Second, Delta makes the schedules and provides the gate and ramp space we have to work with.

What you need to realize is what you say is true, but are planning dept but together a plan that adds insult to injury. We know that we have to do this flying that these times. What we do is make the crews do swaps on 40 minute turns in ATL, and then mechanics do line checks on aircraft that have the same turn times. On paper it looks like it will work. The fact is that if they wanted better performance, you would make crews swap(this is inevitable) and have larger turn sit times in the hubs. IE a new crew will pick up the jet and turn it in 40 minutes or so and then crew will have an hour to an hour and a half off to go grab their meal and get to their next flight. It is a little less efficient, because you will need a few more crews and the duty days will be longer on average, but your performance will be a lot better. This is what the majors do. The have trip and duty rigs to help out, but their operations run a lot smoother.

For what is worth, the same is happening is SLC. Delta rampers are starting to work some of our gates, doing some of the deicing. It appears Delta is not to happy with Skywest/ASA.

One other issue. The recent meida attention too Jet Blue's problem at Kennedy and the new "Customer Bill of Rights," will now create an additional line item cost for the excessive delays and cnx's that ASA has accepted over the years. Of course I am referring to the incredible inept and stupid BL.

Maybe this ends the recent trend of outsourcing everything? Delta has figured out that is cheaper to have control, but pay wages and benefits, rather than outsource to the lowest bidder and have no control over the product.

...so is this only in ATL...if it was said earlier I missed it.

Well shoot! I was going to say that all the crybabbies would have to find something else to cry about now that Delta is taking over all the operations for ATL but, you beat me to it. You're already crying again.

Some folks will NEVER be happy.

So basically all this investment in new ground equipment and the spectacular opening of the ground equipment maintainence facility was money down the drain?

Way to go BL. Smart planning and great use of resources. Somebody fire the f%cker, please.

Although this is great news for us it would be better if they were taking over the FUK!NG G.O. and getting rid of all those retards that are just drifting by in life and serve no purpose!!!!
