Commute?

Yellow crew bags for CRJ. My bag ends up on the bottom of the pile just about every leg. Sucks.
Last in...first out...yeah right! One or two stations maybe do this! I can't believe the pile of bags, golf clubs, mail, ATL ramprat a$$es, etc our bags have been at the bottom of and the PTN bag is still holding up! I hope they either build us those bag doghouses back aft, or mod the front to regain access to the bag closet!

My experience with Travel Pro luggage has been mixed. The suitcase itself is fine but I've had trouble with the handles sticking, both extended and retracted, on every one I've had. It's a good thing that UPS give us FREE Travel Pro luggage every two years.

Heyas,

I've had both the Travelpros and the PNS.

The TravelPros are disposable. No other way to say it. 2.5 years was the maximum I ever saw on mine. The zippers blow out, but mostly it's the wheels or the handles that go out, and replacement of these parts is basically impossible without destroying the whole bag.

On top of that, the Travelpros I had came with removeable straps, which means if you throw the bag in the bins without stashing the strap first, its gone.

I've had a non-stealth PNS bag now for 6.5 years. The only complaint I have is the zipper is on the edge where it can take abuse, but this has been fixed in the current stealth models. I think I paid $235 for mine.

After about 6 years, I had lost all of the outside zipper tabs other than the main one, but other than that, it bag was solid. The wheels still ran like new. I went through two handles. One shed a runner, and the other one I ditched to get one of the new, one piece steel handles. The nice thing about the PNS stuff is that all the high wear parts are easily replaced.

Finally, the corner gave out on the main zipper. I send it in to PNS, and for $90 they sent it back as good as new, fixed and cleaned...good for another 6 years.

go with the Purdyneatstuff bag. it is the same bag from luggage works but sold by a different company. The stealth ng 22 or 23 " size is the largest that can fit in the overheads. The bags are nuclear hardened. you can go cheaper but the bags do get some abuse. if you are a commuter, definately get the purdyneatstuff. you'll get your money out of it.

the PNS is cheaper too.

I don't know what you guys do to your bags, I've had my Travel Pro for going on 5 years and it's still in good shape.

I don't know what you did to your bag, but mine started falling apart after the first month. I guess my bag was built on a friday.

another vote for Purdyneat. Toughest bag you'll come across and you'll get your money's worth. The price may be shocking at first but you wont regret it one bit 3-4 years down the road. Can't beat it's steel frame.

I can't believe I've made it nearly 40 years without hearing that expression. That's great.

As far as bags go, I beat the hell out of a Samsonite 7xx for 5 years before retiring it. Thought I couldn't top that, but I'm 2 years into a Pathfinder 22" and it still looks brand new. The big advantage of the Pathfinder over the Samsonite is that the components all have screws instead of rivets so I can actually repair it when that becomes necessary.

I got it at the Leather and Luggage Depot in Atlanta for $119.

" best luggage

i know this has been covered before but which rollerbag do you guys like the best"

===========================

Mine was 30 bucks at Walmart and still works!

Mooser,

The company sells the TravelPro Flight Crew 2 rollaboard through Cintas. It's $92, and a great case.

I was seriously looking at the Purdy Neat Stuff bag, since it seemed so popular and I wanted the extra space for these long stretches of reserve days. But I decided to go with TravelPro again. This is my second rollaboard from TravelPro... the first is still going strong after two years... only has two zippers missing and looks pretty decent for it's age. I just needed something with more space and pockets to keep me organized, so I got the $92 version from my company. I'm very happy I did! I'll stick with TravelPro for the forseeable future.

I have a Travel Pro5 and love it.

Where did you get yours and how much did you pay for it??? Do you have the 20' or 22'???

Mooser

PS. I saw the Crew 2, was about the same as what I have now...I liked the add for the crew 5 in the CAL's magazine- all the pockets and fold out holder that is clear.

I just went to costco.com and cannot find the kirkland bag on their website. Have they discontinued this puppy because all you jet drivers have been getting new ones for nothing every year?

I am looking for a bag and I am a cheap ass.

They must not sell it online, however, it is in their stores, saw them there as recently as two weeks ago.

Saw 3 of them in a Atlanta Costco yesterday...

. I recommend the Travelpro Crew4. For about $180 you get twice the bag.

TRAVEL PRO bag is your best bet. It even has a garmet bag that fitsinside your roller bag. Works well too. It's also not as heavy has yourPNS bags.

If you like "hardside" luggage, you should try the Samsonite Silouhette 8...It is AWESOME!!! As far as overnight roller bags it is the best that I have had, and it looks really cool! I paid maybe $150, but I can't remember.

Here's another nod for American Tourister. Smooth wheels and tough handles work well. Mine came with a removable strap that I can use for my flight bag. It can hold a bunch of stuff when its expanded. I got mine at JCPenneys for 100.00 bucks..

PNT makes a bag that has a carbon fiber inner frame that is WAY lighter and stronger than the steel external frame. The only problem is that is to small. I hear they will make a carbon fiber 23" roller soon.

Has anyone used the PNT Computer Stealth bag?

Just wondering how well it protects your computer and if it's worth the extra $$.

I had one that I just sold. It seemed to protect my computer well enough, and you can take the padding out of the computer pocket to just turn it into a regular pocket if you want to. That said, I don't know that it's worth it. I was constantly worrying about the computer being in there and decided I'd rather not carry it in there...or at all. Not much room for peripherals either, unless you want to start shedding clothes. I think you're better off using a regular Purdy Neat bag, and carrying your laptop in a slim laptop case. My $.02.

I have the PN Stealth and I love it! Try OuterMarker.com if you are shopping. It is a little heavy but I have a hint for those of you having trouble with the weight - that is what the rollers are for, you can drag it!

Travelpro makes CRAP!!! Had mine for 3 trips before the main zipper started coming apart. On trip number 5, the zipper stopped working completely. I spent 2 hours in my hotel room trying to wrestle a clean pair of underwear from it!!!

To make matters worse, the very next morning I yanked the top of the handle clean off the extensions!!! Went to pull it up a curb, and the only thing that made it was the rubber handle piece. The comic relief was fantastic for my crew though.

I've been buying $40 Kmart specials for 6 years. The only reason I've had to replace them, I tend to walk the wheels off them in about a year. Thought Travelpro would be a step up... boy was I wrong.

My PNS is enroute. The Travelpro will be repaired and relegated to backup/wife status.

Which one would you all recommend? The PNT 22" 103NG Stealth or PNT 22" 737 Stealth NG? What is the main difference between the two? Is one designed for the 737 and the other for all other aircraft type?
I'm looking at buying a Purdy Neat within the next couple of days and am wondering which one is the one to get.
Here is the web-site I am referring to:http://www.outermarker.com/SearchResult.aspx?CategoryID=94

Thanks!

I believe the only difference between the two is that the 737 bag is an inch narrower than the 103NG so it will fit under the jumpseat on a 737.
