Been real quiet on the FedEx rumor front...

I saw a group of around 8 yesterday nervously awaiting their sim ride as part of their interview. Beyond that - everything else is speculation.

Screw the rumors ....... let's get to the facts! (oh yeah, this is Flightinfo.com.....nevermind)

Although, the latest floating around the training dept is that the 757's are back on the table. (For whatever that's worth)

More Rumors

Heard from a standards guy yesterday. Fred wants 757s but at his price. Has dangled $ in front of Delta for theirs but they found another buyer. Training has appointed a 757 training manager.
 
Had a GOC manager on the jumpseat the other day, said a couple of things. First, FedEx wants the 737-800, but can't seem to find any (I assume at the price they want), so the 757 is back ont the table. Second, they can't find enough flight schools, tech colleges, children's museums or fire departments to give 727's to so we are going to keep them for a long time. Third, the airbus is to pick up YVR-MEM and the 727 is going to start OAK-YVR. And last, he had seen the flight forcast thru 2009 and we are going to grow alot (South America and China). He needs to hire many GOC specialists for the increase flight loads and to cover retirements, but the finance guys wont approve much. (sounds familiar).

There was yet another group of 8 there this morning for the sim portion of their interview!

So, the interviews continue, but the classes are on hold...

I'm burned out on all these rumors...MOAB in Feb, no wait a sec....contract close, no wait a sec...700 new hires this year, no wait a sec...737 deal to be announced soon, no wait a sec...I can't take it anymore! Niner Fan stop!

I'd actually believe that one...you think there are unknowns at FDX?? The F-22 transition "plan" changes hourly! Now some of us might go fly Eagles at LFI instead of Raptors...but not this kid.
 
Interviews

My bud got the call for a Mar 15 interview, did the "grip & grin" in mid Aug. Heard also "grip & grins" were coming back late Mar/ Apr.
 
Grip and Grins

Crashpad roomate was in yesterday trying to drop off a resume to the 727 ACP. Word from him was grip and grins on hold for 1-2 months and only accepting resumes as part of grip and grins. Email will be sent out when they start again.

Meet and Greets

I tried to drop off a resume to my ACP last week and he stated that resume drops and meet and greets were on hold for 1-2 months because they have a pool. He expects the turn time from meet and greet to interview to be reduced quite a bit because the stack of resumes for most of the ACPs is pretty short. A mass email will be sent out saying the meet and greets are back and call to schedule. If this info came out in another thread, sorry for the repeat.

Doing well. Lucky just snagged full time orders and Scrappy is a jB captain and TR. Scrappy will likely make the Raptor leap, not sure about Lucky. Bugs and Bang are also former Luke guys here and will both likely transition, too.
