This question is posed to the moderators, what does it take to get banned from posting?

Ali

Are the banishment rules similar to the new TSA pilot cert revoking procedures....ban now and ask questions later???

While the mods mull this over, I'll offer my "take" on this.

1) Banning a poster happens infrequently.

2) It requires more than one instance of being a problem poster, or a bad attitude after being cautioned against another offense.

3) Since the "post" basically speaks for itself, I'd consider questions to be unnecessary in many cases.

4) Like the TSA, a previous history, in this case a person using the same ISP address but a new screen name, might lead to a revokation no-questions-asked.

This opinion is based on what I have learned from other boards, along with this one. Does that answer your question?

Maybe some 99's don't like the "anna" avatar....

...then again, maybe it happened in error?

Hmm.

Hmm.

This is of course, ignoring the possibility of an error, but one would think that a regular poster would be treated a little differently than your typical fly-by-nite problem poster. Advance warning of banishment or, a warning about inappropirate comments/pictures would only be the courteous thing to do.

That sounds fair, but you and I really don't have the answer yet.

Maybe there is more to it...
