This hearts and minds argument is beyond old. It's as though you can't face the truth unless it's wrapped in warm fuzzy language couched to let you avoid the fact that you've been vastly wrong for way too long. I'm tired of explaining the obvious to the clueless. I'm convinced that we'll probably all spiral into oblivion as a pilot group because people like yourself would rather spiral than admit you were wrong. The warning signs are all there, they're obvious to anyone who doesn't limit himself to reading the occasional corporate memo, and it's a fact that there are way too many of you to make any effective changes in any way that matters.

In the not too distant future, I think you're going to deserve the mother of all "I told you so's" but you'll still be blaming anyone and everyone but yourself. How's that for "hearts

and minds"?

Why, what do you see happening?

I'm not Nostradamus. I don't *know* beyond doubt what's going to happen. I'm looking at this from a risk perspective, and we a loaded with them, anything from a scraped wingtip to an alter ego carrier to a fragmented airline. We are *exposed*. And we have no "insurance" in place to mitigate risks, much less a disaster plan. Almost anything that happens to you or your career is almost entirely outside your control, with no input on your part, your fate decided by others who may or may not have your interests in mind, but who certainly aren't working for you.

B6Busdriver asks: "Why is it that you only see this kind of discourse on JetBlue threads?"

Uh, maybe because: "There are a few people on this thread trying to convince people not to come here. This is a loosely coordinated effort to make people not want the job so that the airline will come around and fix our grievances."

Here's the thing, as a new hire, I'm not likely to side with the offensive and demeaning crowd. If you want to win hearts and minds, you better change your tune.

I am relatively new here also. (2 years) That being said I am assuming you are a young guy (sub 40) That being said assumed you have at least 25-35 years left in this industry. Statistically speaking the chances of JB not being bought or merged in 25-35 years is highly unlikely. The job protection that you and I absolutely need, that only a CBA will provide is reason enough to vote yes for a CBA. Forget anything else that anyone ever says, and vote yes for CBA for this reason alone. This way you don't have to listen to anyone ever regarding any union or anti union rehtoric.

Blue Dude. While I agree that our country has way to many people that vote with there emotions rather than there brains. (No voters and Democrats) The point is sometimes the only way to get through to these people is to use warm fuzzy language couched to let them avoid the fact that they are vastly wrong. So instead of useing your 5 minutes to bash on a guys emotions, use your 5 minutes to give him a warm and fuzzy feeling. The idea is to get a CBA on property and if holding these guys hands for 5 minutes does the job, it is worth it. Thats the whole idea right. I hear you blow hards say you will do whatever it takes to get ALPA on property. Well put your $$$ where you mouth is and do what it takes even though you hate it, don't understand it, and it pisses you off.

why are you even arguing with a$$smart?! he doesn't even use jet blue insurance cause he double dips from his wife medical insurance. you guys need a union asap!

Another republican demanding union protections....

I am not demanding anything. I am using my brain and information available to me to make the best decision possible. I am using a democratic system of voting to ensure my future is the best it can be, and more of what I earn and deserve goes into and stays in my pocket.

By using a liberal-progressive form of leverage against your employer, that your favorite politians don't support.
