Don't be a d!ck.

I wasn't trying to be a d!ck. However if a guy hasn't done the research to at least know if an airline is hiring do you think he has done the neccesary research to know about serious issues. Do you really think he completely understands the medical bennefits (or lack there of), union/non-union issues, or other extremely important topics that will affect him for years and possibly decades. A lack of knowledge typically causes nothing but pain. I am trying to help this guy out. He potentially will be working for JB for 30 years so if being a d!ck helps this guy realize he needs to read through countless pages of crap to get as much info as possible I will be a d!ck. Just trying to help this guy out at the source of his problem.

And that is exactly how a 'Richard' goes about 'trying' to help.

In my experience, people who haven't done their research probably won't do it regardless of the amount or type of prompting.

Right, but maybe he saw coming on here and asking people "in the know" directly was doing research... Instead, he gets a few Richards who say, "What? You don't already know? You're lazy, and screwed. Move on!"

Actually someone thats really done their research wont even apply here and will wait for a true career airline interview

To put it another way would you come to work at an airline knowing that you are pissing away 2 million in earning potential?

Really? So they should stay at their crappy regional airline and "hope" they get hired? That's putting a lot of faith in your ability to get that dream job everyone is waiting for. If you don't get that job you're probably giving up about 5 million in earnings. Same old people bitching about JetBlue. DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM. Listen to the people who give you the facts and compare them to where you are now. If you're gonna make more money, have more retirement, be based closer to home, have the potential for a better career at JetBlue then come on over. When I took the job it certainly wasn't a slam dunk decision, but I weighed my options at the time. I live in base and work about 8 days a month on reserve. I could have followed the haters advice and stayed at my regional making the same money and working 19 days a month. JetBlue needs A LOT of improvement! Our insurance, retirement, and work rules lag behind the legacy carriers. But if you're at a regional or shi@@y corporate job it's a no brainer.

I don't think anyone would put too much weight into the post you were answering. I know long term JB would increase my QOL. The consensus among those I know who work there is that it's a good place to be. Maybe it wouldn't be if I had my heart set on another carrier, but I don't.
