Don't be a d!ck.

I wasn't trying to be a d!ck. However if a guy hasn't done the research to at least know if an airline is hiring do you think he has done the neccesary research to know about serious issues. Do you really think he completely understands the medical bennefits (or lack there of), union/non-union issues, or other extremely important topics that will affect him for years and possibly decades. A lack of knowledge typically causes nothing but pain. I am trying to help this guy out. He potentially will be working for JB for 30 years so if being a d!ck helps this guy realize he needs to read through countless pages of crap to get as much info as possible I will be a d!ck. Just trying to help this guy out at the source of his problem.

And that is exactly how a 'Richard' goes about 'trying' to help.

In my experience, people who haven't done their research probably won't do it regardless of the amount or type of prompting.

Right, but maybe he saw coming on here and asking people "in the know" directly was doing research... Instead, he gets a few Richards who say, "What? You don't already know? You're lazy, and screwed. Move on!"

Actually someone thats really done their research wont even apply here and will wait for a true career airline interview

To put it another way would you come to work at an airline knowing that you are pissing away 2 million in earning potential?

Really? So they should stay at their crappy regional airline and "hope" they get hired? That's putting a lot of faith in your ability to get that dream job everyone is waiting for. If you don't get that job you're probably giving up about 5 million in earnings. Same old people bitching about JetBlue. DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM. Listen to the people who give you the facts and compare them to where you are now. If you're gonna make more money, have more retirement, be based closer to home, have the potential for a better career at JetBlue then come on over. When I took the job it certainly wasn't a slam dunk decision, but I weighed my options at the time. I live in base and work about 8 days a month on reserve. I could have followed the haters advice and stayed at my regional making the same money and working 19 days a month. JetBlue needs A LOT of improvement! Our insurance, retirement, and work rules lag behind the legacy carriers. But if you're at a regional or shi@@y corporate job it's a no brainer.

I don't think anyone would put too much weight into the post you were answering. I know long term JB would increase my QOL. The consensus among those I know who work there is that it's a good place to be. Maybe it wouldn't be if I had my heart set on another carrier, but I don't.

You did. And still do.

What were the pay rates when you got hired?

They haven't gone up that much, and now we have the worst health care in the industry. Hourly rate doesn't mean a thing when you have horrible work rules and lousy benefits.

Your record is broken.

And your argument for coming to jetBlue, and STAYING at jetBlue is weak.

Only in dumda$$ world is longevity transferable.

Your "if you don't like it quit" drumbeat is old and stale.

You are poll smoker.

I don't think you should quit if you don't like it. I think you should quit if you think this place is TERRIBLE.

What good is longevity here at jetBlue anyway if it is as bad as you pretend? How can it be as bad as you say and STILL be worth staying?

I get it you are a troll. You say you hate the complaining yet here you are everyday on every thread about jetBlue. LIke you are paid to do it.

Go back to smoking poll. That is how you were appointed to Manager of Bulletin Board Trolling. Your talking points are old, tired and failed just like yourself and is why you are only flying Internet Explorer.

In dumba$$ cubical our health care is the best and getting better. In the real world it the worst. But according to Jetblue thread troll we live in a pretend world and the Jetblue Flightinfo.com Troll lives in the real world. That is a nutshell is Jetblue. The trolls troll and the rest of us are attacked for pointing out the FACT that our health care is a HDMP with no option like SWA, DAL, AA, UAL, Alaska of a HDMP and/or a low deductible medical plan.

Longevity is not transferable. If it was most of the list would be gone in a split second and you would be the senior troll.

I could only wish it were a true HDMP. Most of those have a high deductible, but once the deductible is met, everything is covered at 100%, not 80%. Plus the premiums are lower, not higher. Plus the company typically kicks in some of the HSA contribution, not requires you to "earn" it back. We have the worst of all possible worlds here: high premiums, high deductibles, *and* lousy limits. It costs a lot more than the 2% we just got, so we're still falling further behind. Give us the lower pay rates and the old medical plan and we'd be *better off.* That's sad.

I'm an "old guy" here at JB and yes, as long we keep moving back two steps for every step forward, I'm going to keep complaining. Someone has to counter the BS the company is slinging. It's not work at the salt mines, but it's far from the position the company is selling.
