No Rumor, just a quick comment from a Waterskier:

Myself and A LOT of other Trans States pilots are hoping that our company is completely unsuccessful in its bid to "obtain" any of Whiskey's UAL flying.

You guys have a better contract...better pay, trip rigs, etc...I couldn't care less if we get a single airplane out of the deal, because it would mean less flying by a "Regional" with a decent contract.

We'll fight the good fight in the next round of contract talks, but right now, we need the bar to stay higher.

Take care and fly safe.

Did anyone really think that AWAC was going to lose their UExp deal? I always figured they'd just keep on doing what they were doing, only for less money (from United).

Well I guess I have more faith in AWAC than you do. :D

That may be how it actually works out....but.....UAL can select another company and they hold a huge hammer over AWAC at this time. I don't put it past them to use since they are in a survival mode. So....yes.....I really think we could lose the UAL flying.

Indeed..we will. Good luck to the AWaC guys.

On a side note......

Hey I.P. You think Williams can put up a challenge this season? My money is on Schum. AGAIN

I have heard nothing more than the usual. I don't see a 328, 146, or cl-65 on your bio.....How would you define a "good" rumor? (no flame intended, just that what is good for one guy is the next guys nightmare!)

Sorry, my profile isn't very accurate. By good I mean good for the guys at AWAC! We'll hear soon hopefully.

I also have heard some very good rumors floating around AWAC land...stay tuned supposed to find out very soon....

Rumors are just that. How many of us predicted that we'd fly for AirTran at all? None. Not one. So, I would be very warry of any "inside" info.

The mood around ATW HQ has been described as "better". But better than "horrible" could just be level "bad". I dunno. It's all a matter of perspective.

I've heard the rumors too. We'll see. We won't ever know if what's happening was good for us or bad for us until about 20 years down the road. What if they "get" the flying then say we need 10% or declare bankruptcy and take your contract legally? Not trying to rain on the parade but hey... I try to look a little bit down the road.

The waiting is the hardest part. There is no firm date of an announcement. We just keep trying to service our customers as best we can to compell UAL that is would cost more to give us up. Hopefully someone that makes the decisions will see that. Just sad to see people who liked AWAC leave the company for different flying jobs just because of the termoil. If there hadn't been the issues they might not have left. They are all fine pilots and valuable assets to the airline industry. Sad to see them go. I hope they all find a semblance of stability and a QOL they can be satisfied with. Sounds like most of them have.

UAL didn't give a rats behind about AWAC's or the AWAC flight crew demographics when they yanked Denver away. Lot's of folks with home near or west of DEN makes commuting to IAD or even ORD and multi day event. Then they turn around and pull the rug out from under IAD and ORD too. I hope AWAC can find some other company to fly for and tell UAL to.........

What I am most fearful about is not losing all the flying, but losing some of the rj flying to someone else who plans on using 70 or 90 seaters in place of the 50 seaters, and losing half or any of the 146 flying. Simply using us to fill in the holes that need to be filled.
And don't fool yourself, YOnited will spend a million dollars once to save a dollar a year!

I spoke with JG (RJ fleet manager) briefly this afternoon an his way back to ATW. He said that they were expecting a call last night with the answer to the big question. That call did not come. I have no idea what that means. Probably no big deal. We are currently the only UAX carrier that is scoped to fly anything larger than 70 seats. That has not changed and loseing 17 88-100 seat jets may hurt UAL more than getting rid of us. rumors have been flying so fast I don't know what to believe anymore. I have heard everything from we are doomed, to not only is everything fine but we will be launching with a new customer soon. I just hope this all ends soon so we can all get on in our lives. Regards DD

Short answer.... NO. But their car sure looks nice, and you know what they say about a car that looks fast.

Schumichael will make it #8 this year, of that much I'm pretty sure. :D

No new yet from UAL, but announcement today that AWAC is investing in USAir and provision to potentially provide up to 70 RJ's for them. Hmmm.

Should we get out the spray cans and start painting USAirways express on the planes? Maybe we could get some of those magnetic stickers to cover up the old UAL logo.

Or... you can fly the old UAL color birds inverted, that way it'll already look somewhat like Airways colors! =)

I have seen some of the AirTran Beige airplanes flying, just paint those first.
