AWAC class date

Hi all,

I just got a call for a Sept. 15 class. Any of the Mesaba people that went to AWAC in the past year do you think you made a good move? I'm 95% sure I'm going to take the class date, but I just want to hear what you think of the move to AWAC.

pm me with any specific questions. I left in Feb. It's been nothing but a positive move for me, but then again certain aspects are more import to some than others, I'd say faced with the same decision again today I'd be hanging on the fence with 60% of me wanting to leave, the rest curious as to what the future holds at XJ. I'm not looking back now and am happy with my decision. Congrads on the offer! AD

The Mesaba guys who've posted on this board about going to AWAC have loved it. Come to think of it, EVERY pilot who's left another regional to go to AWAC who's posted on this board has been extremely positive.

PS-I tried to go to AWAC. I currently have about 3 rejection (no interview) letters. I may try again in about a year, depending on how my current job is going (under contract for another year)

There are going to be small classes (10+) a month for the next several months and the pool is almost dry! The class going through now was made up as follows:

Average flight time was 3514
All but one had prior 121 time, other one 135 time.
6 Great Lakes
1 Mesa
1 Trans States
1 American Eagle
1 Piedmont
1 Modern Aero Inc.

Does anyone ever wonder if Great Lakes is attempting to take over Air Wisconsin? Seems like an ingenious plan...one......... pilot...at...a...time..........

former XJ; now AWAC

I flew for Mesaba for not quite 3 years. I came to AWAC last fall and have not regreted it once. Although I miss the great pilot group at Mesaba, I have enjoyed the move to AWAC. I left because of the future of XJ and the potential growth. If Mesaba announced they were getting RJ's; it would take probably at least a good 2 years before they would replace the saabs that they are losing. I didn't want to be a career FO. I wanted to make the jump to an airline that is positive and had a bright future potential. Although I'm sitting reserve and still making less money than Mesaba; I think it will benefit my lifestyle in the future. I am very thankful for everything that Mesaba had done for me in the past as far as giving me a job and the experience acquired there. I am also thankful for AW for giving me an opportunity to make it my next home. I perhaps may be here till retirement and this is the place that I want to be.

Can someone explain to me what is happening with Chataqua and Airwisc in regards to the United contract flying? Will Airwisc fill in for ACA out of IAD? What about this rumor about Chataqua getting 50 EMB-170s for United? Where would they fly?

Nobody knows anything,tomorrow we'll all here the big news over at CHQ.......I can tell you right now that unless United is planning on d*cking Mesa or Skywest over CHQ will not be operating 50 of those EMB-170's. I know there has been debate over the weight of the aircraft not falling under United's limit, but regardless with all the 70 flying that has been awarded so far there isn't room for 50 more to fall under the agreement.....then again I guess it could be 25 firm/25 options.........whatever..... nothings official yet General, but it will not surprise me at all to hear that CHQ is being brought in to join this whole mess. AD

AWAC Interview

Has any one interviewed at Wisky lately? I got the call and am going to ATW on the 23rd. the most recent info I could find on the big interview site is from last Dec. Just curious if anyone has seen or knows anything.
