Anybody got any info on the future growth and hiring plans for AWA. I have an interview in a few days and would like to know their plans.

I've been furloughed twice (one major and one cmmuter), currently work for a fractional (sweatshop) and may be up for a corporate job that pays ok. I just want some opinions about trying the majors again.

PS Studying the ATP written again after ( years BLOWS), but if I quess if I get the job it will be worth it.

Thanks

JR

Ok since no one else wants to jinx themselves I will take a stab at it. It's 2005 and the industry is still a gamble, with that said we are currently doing pretty good. We have a good cash position and continue to take a/c and hire. we are diligently working towards ETOPS cert while looking for other business opportunities. If you choose to apply here at this time you CAN"T GO WRONG!!! Keep in mind that today Jan 3, 2005 someone made that very statement 17yrs ago at USAirways...

Thanks WD

Yeah I also know the USAirways blues. But at least i wasn't there too long

As for the ATP study, you can pretty much limit your study to Jeppeson review. They wanted me to be able to interpret everything on the approach plate and a couple of questions off one of the charts. Real basic stuff.

I've been here all of 2 weeks, but so far the water seems fine. There is no shortage of bad history here, but with Parker & Co at the helm, people are very upbeat and the culture is improving. Rumors of hiring this year are around 200, which is about 10% of the current list. 5 A320s coming this year, with more next year as well. Strategically, we seem eager to expand (perhaps by merger/acquisition) to gain strength over JB and AirTran, especially out East. I am cautiously optimistic.

Good luck on the interview!

Did you hear that they have or supposed to have changed the interview process to include an hour long written test? The written was going to replace that sim ride. When did you interview and did you have a sim ride.

Is there anyone out there that has gone through the new process?

You are correct about the new format - there is a written test that you are given an hour to complete - although it shouldn't take you that long.

New process interviews started this week.
